Silver Dollar City’s most spectacular and favorited festival, An Old Time Christmas, is well underway. Through December 30th, Silver Dollar City will be illuminated with over 5 million Christmas lights, 1,000 decorated Christmas Trees, and of course the hallowed 5 story musical Christmas tree in the main square which now includes the entire area into it’s spectacular display every fifteen minutes during OTC evenings. An Old Time Christmas is Silver Dollar City’s grandest and tradition, transforming the entire park into a winter paradise.
This year Silver Dollar City has expanded their tie-in with the old Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer franchise (yes, the one from the 1964 TV special) with a revitalized parade dubbed the Holly Jolly™ Christmas Light Parade. The new parade seems to include a lot of the old “Gifts of Christmas” elements, but extends it with several new Rudolph-inspired floats and additions.
Also back this year are two of Branson’s most revered theatrical productions: It’s a Wonderful Life, and A Dicken’s Christmas Carol. Be sure to get in line at least an hour in advance for these productions, as they are one of the primary attractions for the park during this season.
Of course Silver Dollar City’s acclaimed coaster line-up will also be operating all through this festival, weather permitting. Don’t miss the opportunity to ride Outlaw Run and Powderkeg in the dark!
