Girl Hurt On Outlaw Run!

Saw this on channel 3 out of Springfield Mo this morning.  Sounds like the young girl is fine and SDC followed the proper procedure.

I could believe someone complaining of neck pain after riding powderkeg but not outlaw run. I'm afraid of what will be added to this ride.

She wasn't actually "hurt". It sounds like she just got scared and a little shook up. I can understand a kid not expecting a ride like OR to be so intense. It sounds like the response was entirely unnecessary, but done out of procedure.

I don't think OR is in any danger of modifications here.

This is not news:

It's a roller coaster.
Roller coasters turn sharply and drop steeply.
You're going to get shaken around.
You might get sore or have a headache.

Who exactly alerts the media about something like this?

I know around here they monitor the emergency channels on the scanners.

There are lots of little "injuries" that happen at amusement parks each day. The media likes to pick up the ones about roller coasters and of course anything involving mechanical failure. More often though, people simply hurt themselves by tripping over stuff.  :P
