Saw this video of SDC shot in 1990 and thought it was pretty interesting. Old petting area, Balloon ride, walk behind the waterfall, etc.

Liked seeing both videos...thanks for posting.
another great video. funny how it all looks the same, BUT yet you can see the many changes through the years.
Great video How-dofolks! I wish they would have had the whole train skit, I was just getting into it :). Did anyone notice the doors on the Hospitality House? Does anyone remember what year they took the doors off?
Gosh I miss that waterfall!

I noticed the doors right away, but didnt want to show my age. LOL!! All good videos. that 9 minutes though, from 20 years ago..? that is a classic no doubt
The home video today is far superior quality to the equipment I had access to as a mass communications student 25 years ago. Good job on the piece! Fun to hear the music and watch the little guy enjoy his day.
When I saw the 1990 video, I gasped at the sight of Shanty Town! I loved that place, kinda the HDH of the day. The balloon ride, the original verson of the Carousel, the petting zoo! AHHHHHH, those were the days! Great videos! The late 80's & early 90's were my childhood, so I got a kick out of seeing those!

These are all fantastic. I must say that I appreciate all the nostalgic looks back through the decades, but the one above (most current one I guess) is very haunting. I am not sure if it's the Iron Horse "Metallica" song or the way the shots are edited, but it almost feels like a memorial tape. It really honors the "Day in the City" concept!
By the way, did anyone notice the shot of the passenger on the Lost River of the Ozarks with a full-on Beverage...sippin' on it?! Whoa!
definently classic films.. does bring back the looks of the old city as you said beta.
hard to believe when you see old video, and then see the current city.
And as we all know, not all changes are good ;)
Ahhh, the 90's! The simple times. Please bring back the balloons and let us walk behind the waterfall! Thanks for posting, reminds me of the good ole days.
