I am wondering if they are going up. I think I bought mine for 79 last year with the BAF's.
LOL!! relax mhguy.. about 45 days to go...
They usually post prices sometime during the first week of November, IIRC.
I would not be surprised if the ticket prices went up. They have to pay for that rumored new rollercoaster somehow. ;)
Sanddunerider I try to plan ahead!! ;D
I'm glad you asked the question mhguy77. We like to buy our passes early to get the cheaper rate. I'll be keeping an eye out for when the new season passes can be purchased as well.
The " Offer" to buy before the end of the year is way too sweet to pass up but at the same time its a tough squeeze
during the holidays. I really wish that they would make an announcement that would urge me to buy but I am afraid that is not gonna happen.
We do ours as the big gift for the family members. It alleviates any other soending, and it is something we truly want, and can use.
yesm rube, we do the same here.. we get SDC, tickets along with grand country season tickets. Makes a great "gift", that we all enjoy.
Same here. Given the price of most of the stuff many people want today--iStuff, SmartStuff, and other electronic mayhem--Season Passes look just as reasonable as can be.
If I get them at the $79 with the BAFs I REALLY feel like I got a good deal.
If SDC did away with these it would seriously effect my dicision to purchase.
i would expect early tickets available for 71-73.00 plus tax... which would be about 78-79 per ticket.... i think that is what i paid last year..
I just looked on the website and the 2011 passes are $95! Holy cow. I would have thought you'd get a break this late in the year as there's only a couple of months left to use them. We always buy ours as soon as they go on sale, is this the normal price?
thats right larson,, after the "early bird special" is over.. i think this year april or so, then they went to full price and stay there for the rest of the season... even OTC.
\
i think they do that because they do offer the 2 days for 1 tickets all over the area..
Oddly enough I guess a season pass would pay off if you were to attend the Fall festival, as well as the OTC for 1 day each. Seems late, but even if you went to the area for a week, and wanted to have 2 non consecutive days, it would pay off.
And rube, I think that is exactly why they dont discount the season pass.. ! ;D

Yeah I guess you're right. It's still a better deal as long as you're planning to visit the park more than twice for the rest of the year, I just can't see anyone buying one this late but you never know. I suppose you would still get all the perks except for the BAF's, WW discount and IIRC some coupons that come in the envelope expire fairly early in the year.
Last year an adult ticket was 77.38 and that was buying it in November

Keep that number in mind, because it will be interesting to see if it goes up by a few dollars. Every year, it seems like more companies are quietly slipping in higher prices.
Related, yet unrelated story. Down at the Branson Landing the Bass Pro Shop sales Jon Boats. In 2010 the price for a 10' boat was $469. This year the price for a 10' boat was $489.
It will be interesting to see what Silver Dollar City does with their ticket prices.
I believe they PTB know that the seasons pass is there bread and butter.
They don't want to pull a " Netflicks" here.......
Got my Times in the mail today. No price increase if purchased before 12/31/11.
Adult $72
Child $62
Senior $66
BAF's 3/15-6/1 (except 3/31, 5/26 & 5/27); 6/2-6/10; 7/21-8/5(after 6pm only); 8/6-9/16(except 9/1 & 9/2); 12/1-12/30
They're also offering a preferred parking sticker for $18 for the year vs the $5 each time.
WOO-HOO!!!!!!!
No price increase!!!!!
I am IN for 2012.
:)[move]
I just went to their website and '12 passes are not on sale yet. :( I'll try again tomorrow.
I was looking to see when SDC was going to sell the 2012 season passes and came upon this site, in fact this very thread. I was just at SDC's site and they still don't show 2012 season passes for sale. I may check my local credit union as they sell season passes also, they may know when they go on sale.
Talking about the Times, I wonder how come I didn't get one. I got one last year I think. Of course last year I couldn't go to SDC anyways, financial reasons, so I didn't even get a season pass.
whoooo thats reeasonable!!! yay for good prices!!
Welcome! I would say since the times is out, you could probably call the SDC office and order them..

I asked about this on their facebook page today:
Quote from: Silver Dollar CityThank you for asking David! The 2012 Season Passes should be available for online purchase by Saturday, November 5th. And yes, the new "Guest Program" that is in your November Times is replacing the past "Bring-A-Friend" program. We look forward to seeing you in 2012!
posted today!:

I like that HFEC is seeing the opportunity to allow people who cannot drop hundreds of dollars at one time to use their new Flex Payment plan on season passes:
"Now through February 12, 2012, Silver Dollar City offers a 2 payment plan for 2012 Season Pass purchases! The Flex Pay 2 Payment Option is a simple 2 step payment program designed to make your 2012 Season Pass purchase easier during the holiday season."
Basically you pay 1/2 the total amount on the date of purchase, and 30 days later pay the remaining balance.

That's been an option for at least the last two years. But yes, it is a good idea.
REALLY? I had no clue. I might attempt to do that this year. Things are a bit tighter with my wife not working until January...At least we only have to buy two passes.
We picked up ours Friday night. The little machine prints out the passes and then the BAF-passes, each good only during its specified period. The lady accidently gave my son a senior pass and had to reprint a new child pass for him. She hand-printed the ID number on it to match ours, which I hope doesn't cause any problems, as the numbers have to match for the BAFs to work.
That's kinda funny they did the exact same thing to my 4 yr old son. First gave him a senior pass then had to hand write the numbers on them.
well the senior pass and the kids pass are both discounted, maybe the new system doesnt understand the difference ???
It's only a difference of fifty to sixty years! ;D
Money is tight, so of course I am going to procrastinate, and not purchase my 2012 Season Pass till the very end of December.
We got our passes and I qualified for the senior pass this time.(YAY) but it does make me feel old......they also gave us our ornaments even though we only got 3 festivals in ....so they must just count how many times we visited the city like last year.
It can be festivals or events. You must have slipped in a couple of events besides the 3 festivals. I was told it was not based on total number of visits.
welcome home cheesehead! hope trip home was uneventful.
congrats on getting your ornament.!
Yeah Sanddune.....we had a good trip home.....now it's snowing and I sprained my ankle yesterday......
Ouch!! hope its not too bad,,,, BUT better you do it yestarday at home, istead of your 1st day at branson ::)
you guys be good, hope you had a good holiday,
I just recieved a text from Dollywood that said if you buy a 2012 Dollywood season pass you can enjoy Dollywood's Christmas Festival for FREE. So basically, the 2012 Dollywood pass also includes what's left of 2011.
Has anyone heard if Silver Dollar City is doing the same thing?
Jay
not to my knowledge, but right now online only deal is you can buy day passes at 30$/ticket.
thats a great deal! I had missed that. nice catch trams!
dude I was all over it like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm the minute is popped up on FB. I called and texted my dad stark raving mad over such a grand deal. He said if he gets enough hours in he would take me!! WHOOOO! :o
