I'm afraid I don't know what the Cowboy Salute is. Would you care to elaborate?
Got mine in the mail today! It is packed with all sorts of goodies...most have been mentioned briefly here in this thread. I have never seen Titanic or Track ads in the Times before. Track offering a playcard for $10, Titanic offering $5 off admission to SDC season pass holders. Here is something that might not have been mentioned yet: For every season pass purchased, there is a special program that lets you visit with one other person who gets in free! The dates for the free guest pass are: March 15-June1, (except 3/31,5/26-27); June 2-10; July 21-Aug 5 after 6pm only; Aug 6-Sept 16 except 9/1-2; and December 1-30. It sounds as if they are trying to pull people in during slow visit times. It works for me!
are the free passes good only with pass holder? did they do away with BAF?
and is it 1 free person per ticket per "session".?? or could you bring somebody every weekend if you wanted to?

From the SDC website:
The Home of American Craftsmanship, Silver Dollar City welcomes hundreds of visiting craftsmen during the National Harvest Festival!
The Salute To The American Cowboy rides again in a BIG WAY during the granddaddy of all festivals!
•NEW Western Stunt Show
•Over 125 Visiting Craftsmen throughout the park
•Legendary western star and artisan Buck Taylor & Friends
•Best of Missouri Hands juried artists
•Wild Mustangs
•Cowboy Poets
•Trick Horse, Rope and Whip Demonstrations
•Chuckwagons and more!
I thought those were the BAF's???

Well I'm thoroughly confused now. I went back and reread that and it does say "new guest program". On the surface that appears to be the same as the BAF
but:
QuoteSeason Pass holder must accompany guest & present pass, photo ID and matching voucher valid during the correct date at any ticket booth to receive your FREE guest ticket
So it sounds like they're finally cracking down on "loose" rules of BAF's.
This might need to be spun off to a new topic if that is indeed the case.

I posted this earlier on the 1Branson forums, as I do there and on here every year it seems, in regard to how the 'Times' mailings probably work:
We go through this every time a new mailing goes out. From what I can tell, the 'Times' is not a simply a newsletter that the park sends out to passholders like many assume. However much we enjoy it, for SDC's purposes it's basically a trumped up piece of junk mail that they formulate to meet their current marketing agendas. They seem to have different lists that they target based on their current marketing pushes. During the spring/summer they seem to go after people who haven't purchased passes yet or who haven't made it out to the park yet. Right now they're starting to push people to buy passes for next season and they're trying to get everyone to make an extra trip out to the park for the Christmas season, so just about everyone should be 'targeted'. Whether or not you are targeted may also depend on how much the park has to spend on marketing in a particular year, so some groups may end up passed over sometimes if the park doesn't deem it worth it.
When you are targeted for a mailing, they are not necessarily mailed out at the same time. The park might be sending out millions of these, so I imagine the process takes several weeks. Once they are in the system, they are not treated as priority mail or anything - they're just junk mail, so the post office will often take their sweet time delivering them. Some mailings might be sent a little quicker depending on which list it's going to, but that's just a hunch.
These are all my guesses at how their marketing works though, I haven't received a Times of my own in ages.
I think my hot mailman steals my copy for his own evil plans of makin my life miserable. I recieved the Times like 3 months in a row and then never saw them again.....
YAY!!!!! YAHOO!!!!
I havent even opened it yet, BUT it has arrived!!!
I got mine a day or two ago. I didn't get one the last time it went around.
HMMM??? ok opened looked at it... not much to see.... some HUGE ads, yes...
except for 2012 prices, not much to see....
Quoteexcept for 2012 prices, not much to see....
Amen
Didn't get mine yet.
Anyone NOT received their Nov. Times yet? I dont want to be paranoid, but I dont have the most reliable post man, lol
Got mine on Thursday
I got mine on Friday! ;D
I took it to work, and my coworkers had to get their grabby hands on it faster than I could open it. I do agree though that it is nothing more than a hyped up advertisement. Nothing groundbreaking was included, but it does have good information on next years ticket prices
My copy finally arrived last Thursday.
To be honest, I have NEVER received a copy, EVER. IN all of my 20+ years of being a season pass holder, NOTHING! My wife (or current resident) however gets one every time, and she passes it along to me!
It seems like that issue was brought up on another thread. From what I understand, Silver Dollar City only sends out one copy per household, and they typically address it to the lady of the house (if she is also a ticket, or Season Pass holder).
Got mine today!
Ours arrived today. Interesting to read some of the festival plans for next year.

Same here. My wife's name is on it and she's not even a member of SDCFans.com! The horror! The horror!

Well we all know that started back with the equal rights thing ::) ::) ::)......................
OH!!! not really..
HFEC just knows who controls the money in most households :o :o :o
well maybe thats not it either ??? ok, never mind.
I was just kidding Ladies!!!!!
If my wife wants to hold out on me...she could just withold the Pathfinder and I would do whatever she asked! Don't let her get wind that I'd do her honey-do list just for a mailer! :D
Ours came in the mail yesterday and I was about to grab it off the counter when mom got to it first. She said I could read it in a little bit then she wouldn't give it to me until I finished my homework. >:(
We received ours yesterday. I have not had a chance to look at it yet.
Dang mailman! >:( he has not brought mine as of yet. If he wernt so good lookin I would tar and feather him!

Still waiting for mine in the mail - I guess this is a lesson in patience.
We still haven't received ours yet, but my parents have. They are heading up this weekend, wish we were, but my wife works. :'(

Typically being the key word here. The first year we had season passes it was addressed to me. Then my wife, the next year me, wife again this year, who knows who will get it next year.
maybe me! Hey my mailman could take pity on me and quit stealing mine, ya never know!
Trams, you will just have to start picking your mail up directly at the Silver Dollar City Post Office. :D
if only that could be done Ozark! strait to the source! lol take that mail man!
Now theres an idea!
You go to the city, go to the post office, show thme you season pass, and "collect" you mail, (the times)!!
Im in! Unless they try to sneak in the electric bill for the city then not so much.....
Finally got my Times....didn't think it would come before we go to Branson next Wednesday.
cheesehead!!

Finally got our times in the mail today. But my parents got theirs today too and I read it at their house before I got home. It was nice of them to share.
