Title: Flash Mob
Post by: Gilligan on December 26, 2011, 09:41:19 PM
I was watching a flash mob video that a friend sent me today and began thinking about how cool it would be if someone would put one together at the park.  Think of the possibilities - patriotic songs during July, campy kids' songs during Kids Fest, the Turkey Tango during November...

You'd be just the person to set that up, Tiffany!  :)

They used to have those all the time -- except they were skits on Main St., by the citizens.  8)

KB: WOW! I took part in those end of the day round dances on Main Street as "Junior" in 1980 and 1981. So I took part in a "flash mob" event, years BEFORE cell phones, Internet, and home computer technology was widely available or used! COOOOOOOOOL!   8)

 ;D

In those days it wasn't like there was always a citizen in sight, but if you sat still for 15 minutes you were bound to see one passing by. The skits, though... you'd see a couple of citizens talking, then they would "announce" by calling out to another citizen across the way, getting everyone's attention, then BOOM there were a dozen characters from out of nowhere.

I loved it.  8)

I remember those days!  Yeah, I guess SDC was the original "flash mob" location.  Those skits were so cool; if only they would start that again.
