Title: New amusement park proposed in Tulsa, but opposed by city
Post by: shavethewhales on February 20, 2012, 01:20:06 PM
I was surprised today to read this story in the Tulsa World: http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=334&articleid=20120220_334_0_MayorD4143

Sounds interesting, although no concrete details are known to the public. I just don't understand where the opposition to development is coming from. We build new subdivisions almost every day with no thought to the habitat they destroy. The area all around this park has already been developed, and it's become a famous place to shoot up drugs, so it's hardly much of an effective habitat.

I mean, green space is definitely nice, but this area can do better. A new amusement park would certainly help revitalize it. If a new target or walmart were being proposed, construction would have already started without question.
