hey all, i just uploaded some new on ride videos
fire in the hole- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2APfSzrpyM
flooded mine- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K6H3DKJcjo
they arent that great but hopefully you enjoy
They were too dark to tell much of what was going on. But your right, they are better than nothing.
Interesting, but you should probably consider the new rules on FITH more carefully. They now state that you cannot take loose articles with you on the ride. It might seem kinda nit-picky for a ride with relatively little action, but if an article were to fall out of the car it could cause serious issues.
wow! the mod is like debbie downer.
waa waaaa waaaooooo
i am going to make a vid with my phone too! but ill tap it to my hand so its not against the rools of having something lose :-\
^Whatever works, I'm just saying... ::)
Does anyone remember the days when Disney would debut their new attractions with TV specials? They would make a big deal with celebs on an outdoor stage in one of the parks, they would make extensive use of conceptual art and models in the broadcast, and they interviewed folks in line before the ride and getting off the ride to get their responses, but they NEVER actually put cameras on the ride cars. They simply didn't want to spoil the actual ride. I don't know if that was right or wrong in the grand scheme, but it sure piqued my interest more and more whenever they would.
I took my camera on Titan and Mr. Freeze. If you've got a good camera strap, you don't need to worry. However I did ride the pirate ship at Six Flags and the stopped the ride seconds after it started and told me to put away my camera. There were about 40 screaming kids who weren't that happy with me.

See, you do need to worry. It's not so much for your interests as it is everyone else's. I don't want to come down on you all or anything, but it's a pretty serious issue that all parks get worked up over - we can't afford to deal with it.
record away!
that's all I'm saying! lol
i try it. never have had a problem. (like i said in a different thread) hahahha
Don't record. It's illegal. That's why they have cameras taking pictures of you on the rides (and why they're installing new video cameras on Wildfire). So no one gets hurt from a flying camera. Check out my post in another forum for a link to the Missouri statute that makes it illegal: http://sdcfans.com/forums/index.php?topic=187.0 (http://sdcfans.com/forums/index.php?topic=187.0)
The cameras on Wildfire are being put on to make extra money not to make us safe! lol
^You're looking at it from a capitalist standpoint. There's another view. It's also to keep people from taking their cameras on the ride, losing their grip on them, and having them fly into another rider's face and causing a serious injury. Sure, they charge for the video. But it's another option to try to keep people from taking loose articles (i.e. cameras) on high-speed rides.
Nothing in the park is free. Everything that doesn't cost extra is already included in the admission price. So arguing that they're doing the videos only to make money is a moot point. The other motivation is to keep riders safe by offering a safe alternative for a ride video.
I'm sure they'll use the videos in the event that they need to prosecute someone, plus, these cameras are only part of a system that monitors the entire ride.
Anyway, before we break off into too many tangents on this issue, the basic point is that the park does not allow loose articles of any kind on most of it's rides - and as we are loyal fans, we're not going to help advocate the spread of videos taken against the rules. That's all there is to say about it here, whether you feel differently about the rules is another issue, but rules are rules.
I think the train and Flooded Mine are pretty much the only things that allow cameras these days. Anything faster and they'll make you stow your stuff.
