Will the Titanic Museum be open in July? My husband thought that maybe the tornado had hit it, but I can't find info for sure. Thanks!
The Titanic Museum only had small cosmetic damage to the exterior. Everything is open and ready for visitors.
The original ship might have sunk, but this one can withstand a tornado! :)
Dolaart is right, the titanic is open for business... IF I remeber right, they only lost 1 or 2 days because of the storm..
I went to Titanic Friday night. Pretty Awesome. I was thinking they were going to have some things they had plucked off the bottom of the ocean, and that isn't the case. THe memorabilia that they have is stuff that was passed down through the generations. Very cool stuff.
I LOVE everything Titanic! I haven't been to the museum in a couple of years, but I am looking forward to going back!
Titanic is very cool, and this year they have a Molly Brown collection.. I have not been this year, but plan on going.!
I have not been, but maybe next week I might try to check it out (I really want to, it is just convincing my wife to go with me!)
I've not ever been to the Titanic Museum. Came close--almost had Senior Prom there (ended up at Branson Belle instead). I've never really been interested in it, but since some of you like it I may try it out sometime.
I've been to the Titanic museum twice and I must say I love it. I myself am not a big fan of the Titanic movie nor am I interested in that whole time period, but the Titanic museum is something that I do enjoy. I'm not sure why but i'd have to say it is because of the several displays that represent a real ship and all of the information about the ships sinking.
I guess I just like learning about catastrophes and disasters in America's history really!!!
I've only visited it once, and I was somewhat let down. BUT I saw the actual museum exhibit in Chicago when it first went on tour, which was phenomenal!! So, I went with my expectations way too high. I think I need to give it another go round this summer.

the 1st year I went they had a complete room full of movie mementos.... I did not like that, I went to see the real artifacts and collectables.....
The 2nd time I went the Movie crap was gone ;D ;D ;D, I liked it musch better....

Gilligan I saw the exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry and it was fantastic. I remember climbing down the floors into the lowers levels and seeing the examples of the rooms. With lots of real titanic relics. They had the simulated evening out on the deck with the room refrigerated to the way it would have been, It was really nice.
I like you was a little let down in Branson.
I guess you get spoiled, I am glad I was although had I been to the Branson exhibit only I am sure I would really feel different.

mhguy, Yes I remember that cold room. It was downright eerie! Do you remember walking around the bell? Not a sound was heard; not even a cough!
We are coming to Branson next week to boat, but we avoid "amateur days (3 days surrounding July 4th - too crazy out there!), so a visit to the Titanic might be a nice way to avoid the afternoon heat.
Gilligan that was quite a experience, I did not expect much when I went in as I was visiting the city and didn't get any hype ahead of time. I was very impressed. The Bell was really something, they also had the large section of the hull they pulled up.
It was impressive.
There was a exhibit in Branson for a year or so " The Body" I think it was called. I also saw this in the Museum in Chicago but skipped this when I saw it in Branson. I was afraid I would be disappointed and regret spending $25.
I saw a Titanic exhibit in Memphis years ago. Part of the Memphis "Wonders" series. It was excellent. They had paper items in the display that were taken from a suitcase or safe taken from the wreckage site. They were beautifully preserved. The ink on the paper looked as fresh as the day the ship went down. It was amazing. Other articles on display were a deck chair, dishes, personal items that passengers had like eyeglasses, and so on. Very impressive. I imagine the Branson exhibit is interesting from the angle that they have recreated areas of the ship you can walk through, plus, each visitor takes on the role of a passenger on the ship, and you don't know until the end of your visit if you, as that passenger, lived or died. Pretty interesting concept for a museum exhibit.
My Wife & I, along with 2 of our friends, visited the Titanic Museum right after it had opened. This was even before the Grand Opening with Regis. The gift shop had not even been fully set up yet. This was when they actually let you take pictures of the inside (not those silly ones they take of you on the stairs). We have about 30-40 pictures of the inside of the Museum, I cherish them, because I know not many people have them. It was a great experice. This was early spring of 2006.
I get the same kind of sad vibe that I get when I go to the oklahoma CIty National Memorial. Very Sad
We went to the theater this past week, and I loved it. Upon arriving we were met by an Irish maid...well a maid nonetheless, and we were all given our passengers to follow for the tour. The artifacts were great, and I loved the tour.
