03-saloon
I don't have any myself (although I'll have '12 this year). But I've made a list from seeing them on eBay and such. I think there's a '94 Wilderness Church also. Someone who actually owns them can correct me?
I can check when I get ready to decorate the Christmas tree but you'll have to wait a few weeks. ;D
This year's ornament is a nail. Supposed to remind us of the real reason for the season... seems more appropriate for an Easter ornament than Christmas, but whatever.

:)Maybe next year.
I kinda like the Christmas nail. No its not Christmas-y. It is more Easter like. But I like it a lot. And because we have 3 SP's dont we get 3 ornaments? Yes we have been to 5 different festivals.
MissinTheGreenTrams...each season pass that meets the requirements gets an ornament.
Swoosh, I was just thinking that same thought ~ and then I read your post. That's a good assumption, and it would be very cool.
I don't understand this. This "Christmas Nail" has been around at SDC for years. We purchased ours at the Blacksmith Shop 3 or 4 years ago. Seems odd to me that they are not making a special pewter ornament that is new.
What is the requirement for the season pass ornament
Others will have a more specific answer, but I believe you have to attend all of the major festivals throughout the year to receive the free Christmas Ornament.
You just have to attend five events/festivals.
We picked up our ornament today. It is the outline of a bell with holly and the phrase "It's a Wonderful Life".
ok, so it's NOT the nail as mentioned before. I didn't think it would be, since they have had that nail for many years.
Makes since they would have the bell from "It's a Wonderful Life."
Thanks for sharing Ozarks Gal!
I got mine last year but we could not afford passes this year.:(

Updated the original post (1/2/13).
(red indicate the ones I have)
*trying to get the complete set, if you have the 98 Shad Heller ornamen and do not want it anymore, I'd be glad to take it off your hands
Funny...I only have a couple of ornaments...and the 98 and 99 are ones I have! then college hit and with NCAA and classes etc....I didn't quite make it to enough festivals to qualify for an ornament any other years
We have every single one EXCEPT 1998! UGH, what was going on that year??
HOORAY! I'm down to only 2 missing ornaments from having the complete set.
IF you have the 98 Shad Heller or the 03 Starwheel and would like to donate them to the cause. I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands. ;)
*I know the park still has the 03 Starwheel, but pretty sure they are out of the 98 Shad Heller
It's the time again!
We stopped getting the ornaments when the requirements increased for the number of festivals one must attend. From the list, I am surprised there has not been a Dickens ornament.
I'm only missing Shad, too. Last time I checked, they still had the Starwheel. Some season pass holders don't realize if you don't meet the requirements, you can still buy them for $10. I was told today 2013 is a star for OR. Anyone get theirs, today?
Got mine tonight. It's in the style of a sheriff's star with the outlaw run theme......pretty cool.

The Opera House ornament celebrates Dickens
How can I find out what ornaments they have left in stock? Does anyone know if you can order the older ornaments by calling and having them mailed to you? Thanks :)
"old" ornaments are at the HH, I believe.. you can purchase anything they have there..
You cant buy this years ornament until next year.
Last year they had old ornaments for sale in the schoolhouse. They had a list posted in there (with examples) of what ornaments they had remaining from which years.
If you are trying to add to your collection, I checked ebay and several ornaments were being offered for sale.
94 was the Wilderness Church. At present time, there are 2 Shads on ebay ::)

Ornaments are ONLY available at the School House where Season Pass renewals are being done.
Went to pick up our ornaments last Thursday night and they would not give my wife one (she had one fewer trip than the rest of us this year) saying she only attended four events. I knew that wasn't right as they said Family Spring Break Days did not count. I knew they did but could not convince the young man working the season pass booth of it. We stopped by guest relations the next morning and got it worked out. She received her ornament. I wonder how many others have been denied ornaments because the folks in the season pass booth were not counting Spring Break? Hopefully not any.
smoke, glad u were able to work that out... your right spring break is the first "event" of the year..! ;D
Along the line of ornaments, When there was a Coca~Cola shop at the OMP entrance, they sold exclusive C~C OMC ornaments each year. I'd forgotten until I was putting up my SDC tree. Anybody else have these & know how many there were?
I just saw on ebay a Showboat Branson Belle pewter ornament (but I can't tell from the picture what year it is). Just curious, anybody know anything about those? Were they a season pass type thing, or a gift shop item? (It looks quite similar to the pewter medallion on some of their shot glasses.)
That was the 2008 All City Park...
So does anyone own the Wilderness Church and/or the Showboat Branson Belle ornaments?
I'm curious what they look like. The resolution on the photo for the SBB is really low on eBay

Yep, this is the list for the Pewter Christmas Ornaments.
There is a wooden 92 Christmas tree on Ebay right now.
That's ugly. Glad they went to the pewter ornaments.
Thanks Swoosh. I actually liked the tree. Our dog chewed off part of the bottom while we were at mass one year. The 93 ball was lame.
Personal preference of course. Perhaps "ugly" was too harsh of word choice.
LOL.. No Swoosh, I think this time you were right on the money,,, :)
I looked at it and said WOW!, that's bad..!! :o
Of course, we are spoiled with the details of the Pewter pieces.. :D
I couldn't find it on ebay. It's simple but it's really not that ugly. Maybe one of those Charlie Brown Christmas ornaments. The ball the next year might be considered that. Anyone know what they gave out before 1992?
The park didn't start having a Christmas festival until 1991 so my guess is nothing.
My family collected the Christmas ball ornaments over the years. This was when each year, they had a specific theme...Angels, Snowmen, joy to the world, etc etc. All through the 90's and early 00's they had a specific theme with matching ball ornaments and other merchandise such as sweatshirts. These ball ornaments were purchased and not given away as any sort of prize, but we purchased one every year as they were dated. My mom was actually sad when they did away with the themes and ornaments; guess they ran out of ideas.
OK! Right... Sorry... Not Ugly, But very plain and simple.... My bad..

Thanks Swoosh, I didn't realize we had only missed on Christmas season at SDC. Sanddunerider? Do I detect sarcasm here? Thanks for the link. That is similar but not my 92 ornament. It was not as faded and had another skinnier wooded frame around the big tree. Kind of orbited it. Of course since the dog chewed off the bottom no more orbits for me. But I will post a picture when and if my decorations make it out of the attic. DollarCityBoy, we did not pay for the ball. It was given to us and all it says is 1993 on one side and Silver Dollar City on the other.
So... I completed my collection tonight as I scored the Wilderness Church after all these years. Super excited to have the complete pewter ornament collection now.
grats to you Swoosh.. always nice to complete a "goal".
Congrats, Swoosh! Would also like to have the Wilderness Church.
I think I have a couple of these somewhere. Thought I saw them in the bottom of a ornament box when we were decorating the tree last year. Have not used them in years. Maybe when I break out the decorations for next year I will find them.
I have a dedicated tree for them
This may be asking alot, but is it possible to photograph them and post here? I have not seen most of these.
I have them on my Facebook page, I'll try to get them posted on here later today.

I have a dedicated tree for them
We finally decided to do the same for ours this past Christmas, we've always just added them mixed in with all the other ornaments on the large tree. This year, I put them on a small tree on the hearth, and they really stood out more! We're still missing three random years though.
I will probably be putting ours on EBay when we drag them out this fall since we never use them.
Here is a link to the album on my Facebook page. I believe I have the settings correct so that everyone can view them.

The sum of the parts is greater than the individual parts. Getting a complete set is quite satisfying, I'm sure.
Think we'll get pewter fire helmets this year?
that is a great set!. I admit, I am a little jealous..... good job!

It'll probably be the SDCFD crest logo.
Thanks for posting, Swoosh. A nice collection.
FYI: this year's ornament is Lucky's head.
Booooo! It could have been way better than the dogs head. :-\
It turned out better than I expected
I don't mean to brag... But I just opened a Christmas present from my mother in law. The contents: 94' Wilderness Church, 95' Frisco Train, 97' Fire Tower, 98' Shad and 01' Hotel!
Are you to a complete set now or what are still missing?

I have no clue to be honest. I would have to make a checklist like yours which I might do once my plane lands tonight!
Time to update the list. Any guesses on what the new ornament might be before its official debut tomorrow?
Hard to say what it will be....
What was all the new stuff in SDC this year?
Personally I'd like them to do another legacy building

The Tree House would be great or Fire In The Hole. Then save the Flooded Mine for anniversary year 2018
We were on park for around 3 hours today and peeked into the building for pass renewal and ornament collection intending on getting our yearly ornaments. There was a decent line of folks in front of us and we weren't in a huge hurry so we waited around a bit, and the line WAS NOT moving at all. So 20 minutes goes by without a step towards the building and I decide to just move to the entry way and peek into the building to see "what's up?" and I see some ornament looking things dangling from red string off of each cashier area and they appeared to be tiny pewter picture frames...I think.
We bailed out on the line and left (there was more talking and chatting goin' on inside the building between operators and customers than actual transactions), and I COULD BE MISTAKEN, but what I saw just might be a lil' tiny picture frame ornament with Silver Dollar City, or somethin or other, etched into the bottom. That's what was hanging from the counters anyhow. If I'm wrong ya'll please let me know. Otherwise, I think I'll skip the ornament collection this year.
Sure those aren't ornaments for the Santa pictures you were looking at?

Don't know...just saw frame type ornaments hanging in front of every register and a non-moving stagnant line and bailed on the whole operation.
After the firedog ornament they gave out last year we weren't too concerned to stick around and figure out just what this year's ornament actually was.
HUGE crowd this year on opening night of Old Time Christmas though. SDC is killin' it with this fest. We were there from 10:45 to 2:30 and left after the ornament deal and when we realized the Pickers were gonna hole up inside of that cabin on a 60+ degree day instead of playing out front like they should have been.
Great 3+ hours in the park this morn though as we rode every ride in the place easily and visited many shops with very little crowd early. Great, great morning/noon at SDC in November. That place was gonna get insane crazy after 3:00ish though. On our way out through the lot we saw plates from MO, AR, OK, KS, LA, MS, NE, IA, CO, NM, TN, KY, and OH. SDC is bringin' em in from a dozen states or more for a Christmas Fest on November, 5...amazing!
Ya'll let us know if this years collectible ornament isn't actually a picture frame...thanks!
It is a picture frame. I got mine yesterday... I had been to 7 "festivals". I asked for how many times i had been this year and they could not tell me that. I was just curious as I don't keep track

Does this picture frame say anything or have any type of writing on it?
I got my passes Saturday at 2:20. I looked at my ornament with an odd expression and said "a picture frame...really???" They pushed the family theme so much they even put it in the ornament.
So I'm predicting this year's will be the "Christmas in Midtown" logo. What are your guesses?
