We rode it not to long ago, and I thought it was AWESOME. My favorite part was going down the spiral, and the part were I felt most scared was in the tunnel.
;D
Thunderation -- after the lift hill, the sweeping down hill to the left right at the end of the ride. Thru all them trees & stuff. :o
Riding it backwards was pretty awesome.

Yep. When you crest the lift hill, you're barely moving forward as the track curves left, then all of a sudden it banks left
before picking up speed. It feels like you're about to be dumped out over the side, then it picks up all that speed in a hurry.
The spiral and into the tunnel. Wish they had another tunnel on the curve going around to the lift maybe even on the drop after the lift.

Yes.(unless your 9 years old and its the first coaster you have ever ridden and your already scared to death, then you dad thinks its funny to get on the backwards seat! but as a older kid,) Yes it was!! does anyone know why they removed the backwards seats?
I heard it had something to do with insurance, Lawyers yet again runining the fun...
I LOVE the dive into the valley right after the tunnel! At night it's just absolutely amazing!
Also I do really miss riding backwards! I believe you're right is was for insurance purposes. It's really funny though because in our same state they are now running Mr. Freeze Backwards and that's a whole lot more intense! LoL In fact Six Flags is starting to run a lot of their rides backwards! Little to no money for a new ride experience!
This was one of the first coasters I ever rode. Befroe this though I had rode many steam trains(I've been a railfan since I could talk), so I was delighted to see the steam engine outline of the coaster and all the old small mine carts siting on pieces of track. The ride was the best. I rode up in the "engine" front seats. I loved the rattle of the pully as the train climbed up the big hill. Sometimes when I'm at work, I wish our real train(I work for a passenger railroad) would take curves and pull hills like Thunderation :)
Ship it on the Frisco!!!

This was my first coaster (excepting FitH). The loops into the tunnel is my favorite part of the ride. (I too loved riding backwards. I miss it, but I understand why it was done.)
