OK, so let's see how much your memories really do work.
I took a special series of pictures, yesterday, that may get you thinking.
I'll post the picture - You tell us where the item is located at SDC.
Here's the first one. Go for it!
Well, off hand, I can't say that I know where that one's at. I guess when you walk through the park day after day, you tend not to notice some of the things that guests might pick up on and say "hey, that's cool." But I do see that there is a little competition for dental work in town. I took this picture the other day--
(http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll238/Zephon907/SDC%20Stuff/100_3626DentistSign.jpg)
Hmm...Anybody know where either of those are?
One of those is on the path that runs between The Flooded Mine and Bummer and Lazarus.
Bum and Laz is correct! That first sign is across the path from the Flooded Mine. I must say that I need to make an appointment with I.B. Painless, though. I like his prices. Perhaps someone can tell me where his office is. It's obviously a newer sign. Is it in the Grand Expo somewhere?

Yah, I was thinking the same thing as I posted it. Five bucks for a set of dentures is not bad, not bad at all.
Hey, Buff, it wasn't my intention to divert or horn in on your game; I just found the competition between dentists interesting. But, the sign is not in the Grand Expo. I'll tell you if you want to know, or entertain other guesses for a while.
You're perfectly welcome to horn in; the more, the merrier. I just hope someone can get in there and identify the location of the I. B. Painless sign soon. What structure has that red paint?
(Of course I know it, but I don't want to tell anybody. ;))
The train depot is that color, but I don't think the sign is there.
Oh... the giant swing!??
Not on the Giant Swing proper, but perhaps on the fence along the walk to it?
No, not in the GS area. Actually, Belmont, you were closer with your first consideration.
This is a great game guys! Here's one of my favorites, although some of you probably already know this one.

Oddly, it was years before I happened to look on top of the Springhouse Restaurant to notice this, but it has since become one of my favorites.

We need to get the I. B. Painless sign now. Zephon, are you saying it's near the depot? That's awfully close to the other dentist. Perhaps they have a clinic together.
Yes, it is close to the depot. I can't give much more of a hint than that without giving it away. I'll give the answer any time you're ready.
So... in the interest of letting this thread continue to bigger and better things, the I B Painless sign is located on the back side of the Woodcarver's Shop, facing the train depot.
Next picture?
Good Luck with this one -- as I am not sure how many of you have actually seen this with your own two eyes before. :D Some of the names should be familiar to you though.
That would be the train robbery shack. Pretty cool history there.
That was probably rather "cheap" of me to do as I doubt too many on here have actually been in the old robbery cabin. It was a pretty nice outfit they had going there before they gutted it when they moved on further out on the course.
I've been out there ... its the best breakroom on park! haha
That's awesome! I've never seen the inside of the train robbery shack before. Thanks for posting, Swoosh!

Wow. This is unusual. No guesses in two days. I'll admit, it is one of the more difficult pictures we've had. I'll wait, though, before giving clues.
I have no idea, but I'll give it a shot. This is just using logic. Is it near Bishop's Watercolor Art on Hill Street?
I never noticed this one before either. I would imagine you might find it in the Great Barn Swing?
Is it on the new Culinary Art School house? ???
I'm going to guess on the side of the dog shop near the magic show.
I can't for the life of me think of any name for the building, or if it has one, but is it on the building just to the left of the Hospitality house entrance on main street? The sell crafts mostly.
Just a shot in the dark.
Oooooh! So many good guesses, but none even close. I think the Culinary & Arts School is the nearest guess so far.
Is it by one of the shops near the Dockside Theater?
Is it on the side of the photo booth for the GE Coaster?
How about the red gold heritage hall?
Getting closer, sonthew! Please be more specific on this one.
Hanging on the front wall of the red gold heritage hall.
Or is it the back?
In the lobby
Outside by the concession stand.
All of our guesses are beginning to sound like a game of Clue.
It was Professor Plum in the lobby with the lead pipe.
Or was it outside by the concession stand? ;)
I'm pretty sure it's on the outside of the heritage hall because it's hanging on yellow wood siding.
I expected the name of the Liberty Plaza concession stand at the corner of GE. Nevertheless, Zephon, you've taken second place.

Looks like something in the area of The Giant Swing.
I haven't seen the sign by the tower before. That's interesting.
As for the new picture, my first instinct was the talking bucket by the railroad, but I know that's not it. Hmmmm... Do they still have the talking bucket?
Is this over between the dockside theater and the carousel barn?
Sign for Giant Barn Swing entrance and Wilson's Farm
QuoteI haven't seen the sign by the tower before. That's interesting.
I must admit, I had never looked
inside the shot tower before I took the pictures. It was nice to see the attention to theming around PK.
As for the last picture, I'm going to call it a tie for Coaster and sonthew. This is at the base of the sign at the entrance to the WF area. Coaster came in with the area first, but sonthew was more specific. At times this can be too close to call.

^Nope.
Flooded Mine
^I think Flooded Mine is right. It always comes to me too late. This is the second time someone else has beat me to it!
You were closer with the first guess.
Is this on the shop by the river front that sells aquatic-related items? I think they're called something like 'Gill Wire Jewerly'. I remember the place because they sell authentic pearls there, straight out of the oysters that you get to grab out of a tank.
It's on the shop right behind the theatre where Cajun Connection plays
^^Closest guess yet.
Jim Owen's Fish Camp?
Still pretty warm, but not any warmer than before...
Is it on the entrance somewhere to the Lost River?
Nope. Try Riverfront Playhouse.
O RLY? Donde?
OK, to be honest, I can't pinpoint this one myself, but it is on or near the RP on the same side of the road. I suppose I should write these down as I take them.
Let's try a new one. It's not a great picture, but you ought to get it.

Darn it! I knew I should have gone to those bathrooms last weekend when I had the chance!
I'm always too slow. :(
I'm curious as to why you cite Christmas Hollow as your point of reference when these restrooms are across from another building. Can you give me the nearest (by walking) business in the vicinity?
I can give you the nearest business: Ashley's Tintype Photography.
Are we allowed to steal? If not, you can give the point to Copper. It makes no difference to me.
Because every time I go from the Attractions Office to that side of the park I use the stairs next to Christmas Hollow and see those pictures every day. In reality I shouldn't be playing this because I see these things all the time. I'll keep from posting here. LOL
This is the one I thought of the other day, right next to the bathrooms near the tintype shop. You open up the last one to see "whodunnit," and all you see is your reflection in the mirror.
nah, when you move into first place, you can quit.
I've been laying off answering as well because like in your case, I know where all this stuff is and want to see if others know it as well.
I'll award a half point to each of you. And I agree with Swoosh, Copper. While I appreciate your quest for fairness, we need you out there making your guesses. The Candle Shop?
I would guess the Christmas hollow.
^The pumpkin in the photo is what made me steer away from guessing that though :-\
I agree ,One would think obviously Carrie's Candles...it being a stained glass candle and all...I could not think of anywhere else it might appear.
If not that, Wilderness Church? I think there's stained glass in there...
OK, so since I'm da judge, I'm going to call this one a split. Swoosh gains a half-point for getting the location, and rubedugans remains on a roll with a half-point for naming the specific shop. This is, in fact on the front door.

Sullivans Mill
WTH? Why did I just get a half point for naming the location? >:(
the country's largest collection of cookie cutters to be exact
Sullivan's Mill - East Wall of the Building - Claims to be World's Largest Collection of Cookie Cutters.
There do I get a 1/2 point for that? :P ;)
Thats the way to get the full point Swoosh! I was not trying to squeak by and get some sort of point out of the deal, I was just mentioning what it was since someone had already mentioned where it was located thats all ;D
I'm just pickering ;D
Oh Swoosh! Silly boy. I'm glad you're on our side.
rd, don't mind him - he's not upset with either of us. I do like to hold him to a higher standard in this game, considering his connections to the park.
Now as for the new point, Swoosh, I'm not sure you quite nailed it, since this is a peek at a part of the display (so the picture does not actually show the "world's largest collection", just a "sampling of the world's largest collection). I'm also not clear on whether this is exactly the "east" wall, as it may actually be "east-southeast".

I know Terry has played the warden from time to time...But his name appears elsewhere in the park. but I have no clue about the other name. I am out on this one as well.
As I recall there is a picture of the warden in the entrance building to the mine ride but I can't recall the name on it.
N.O. Perole
betamike is correct (with a slight misspelling). N.O Parole is the warden at the front gate of the ride while Warburton is the warden in the queue. Why oh why has Silver Dollar City given us these alternate realities?
Ha! Our children will be soooooo confused! ;D
I have to say though that I got my misspelling right from the source ;)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/skinnytie/2761481996/in/set-72157606713144838/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/skinnytie/2761481996/in/set-72157606713144838/)
^Ha! That's a great picture. :D
Credit where credit is due: it was SDC who got the spelling wrong. betamike was just being loyal to the source. Again, I stand corrected.
I suppose the "worden" may actually spell his name that way; in such a case it would not be a misspelling after all.
Hey, I am not one to point a virtual finger. ;D
I've got one....

Facade porch facing the train tracks on the backside of Geyser Gulch / Splash Harbor
I think rubedugans should get half a point for guessing on the porch. I love blatantly obvious answers! :D
Exit from the HH leading down to the cave?
On second thought, I think Swoosh might be right. Although it's an actual building which houses an employee break area.
Thanks, Doc, for posting a photo and keeping the game going. I haven't been on in a while.
And I concur that you were on the porch of the German tea room in the Swiss area of the park. Next to the Alpine Slope ski-coaster. I never thought this area really fit in with the rest of SDC. What do you think?
Swoosh was correct...
I was dropping off my key to the cave door... and on the way back from Maintenance I had my picture taken on the porch across the tracks.

Did I stump you guys again?
Man, this is an easy one.
It looks familiar, but not familiar enough to know where it is. :-[
hmm gotta think hard on this one...
No correct answers so far so everyone has free game -- post your guesses here in the forum so we can get a winner -- if no one gets it by Monday night -- I get the point ;)
Nope, my friend. Only guessers get points. I could easily stump people and take the points.
^We'll go ahead and take back over then, fine sir. I like to be "stumped" ;D
---
If no one guesses it by tonight I'll post the answer.
here's a hint though: It is located in Midtown
Hey, I didn't say you weren't doing a great job. Keep up the good work - at least until things slow down for me at school. Third quarter is always the worst.
I was thinking this was around the tintype studio, but that's not exactly Midtown, is it?
No. Look at the pink wall. How many pink walls do you know of in Midtown?
I think Christmas Hollow looks Pink to me. So is it setting next to the Christmas Hollow building?
Too far west -- go back east
aunt mollies quilt and lace?
GAME OVER!
Congrats to Next to BetaMike (who PMed me) and bobber620
This photo was taken next to Aunt Molly's Quilts and Lace.

The building that used to be the taffy shop...then the quilts...now I have no clue what is in it?
No. The taffy was in the shop closer to the railroad station. This shop had lotions and soaps in it before the quilts.
Yah I remembered that after I posted..wasn't it called "wildflowers" or something like that ?... it is log cabin style not the red vertical clad building anyway! I don't know what I was thinking...
I have just a couple left from last season. Then we can start a new game when the City opens for 2009.

Are we still PM'ing? I am not outright familiar with this sign but the "target" on the rattle makes me think it is Geyser Gulch?
IDK, History Buff is back in charge of his game again.
I hereby command thee to relax, sit back, and let's get some conversation going. The first one to guess in the forums gets the point.
And no, beta, that's not right - though I figured you would say that. Are you sure it's not a target because of the Shootout in the Flooded Mine?
Opera House

Well, I said that at first then looked at the washtubs on top of the buggie then changed my mind.
around the Lost River as in on the bridge going to the ride
No one hit the the target yet. Actually, I don't know what that thing is - an all-day sucker? - but it's not a target. It is a strange sign design, isn't it? In the words of Winnie the Pooh, "Think, think, think..."
Riverfront Playhouse
Saloon?
No one striking close yet. Perhaps there is a vague hint within Betamike's statement:
QuoteWell, I said that at first then looked at the washtubs on top of the buggie then changed my mind.
Lost River of the Ozarks?
No, but you and bobber620 are the closest.
Oh snap! Of course....Riverfront Playhouse.
down by the boat/tower at gyser gulch near the bathrooms
No snapping, betamike, when I tell you your latest guess is also incorrect, as are yours rube and bobber.
Mayhaps you should get off the beaten path occasionally. Keep 'em coming. Since I have few photos left, I'll not show my hand quite yet.
I am going way of the path to the Giant Swing area this time...Any luck there?
^You can run over that direction if you want. Will you find our sign there? Where might it be?
Come on, rube. You're close. I'm just begging you to name a closer attraction in the Wilson Farm area - closer than the Giant Swing, that is.
Hi Lo Silo?
hmm As I am entering Wilsons Farm, I walk past the rib house, past the water balloon tossing, across the bridge, and the first actual thing I can think of to guess within Wilson's farm that would justify leaving your stroller would be the Nursing Station...
Ahhhh....Swoosh has the correct answer. I saw the sign today as I was walking by there. It's by the gate at the Hi Lo Silo that opens to the road behind the FITH and Opera House.
Good job, Swoosh. You hit the attraction for this stroller area, though you spelled it incorrectly (It's High-Low...) so your point has been deferred to the Community Chest. Oh, I can hear it now! I'm just messin' with you, Professor! Here's your blessed point:

Actually the way I spelled it, was the way it was originally supposed to be spelled ;)
Just a little random fact. ;D
You know, we might have to make you start citing your sources.
At least they didn't go with the Heigh-Ho Lay-Low Sigh Loughs.
Gotta vouch for Swoosh, that's the way it is spelled on site.

Early sketch board that was not made public :P
Oh, dear this is a hard one...I for some reason think I can picture it, but am not positive. I will hold off on an official guess for fear of being locked out of the guessing until I think a little more on it.
QuoteGotta vouch for Swoosh, that's the way it is spelled on site.
But not how it's spelled on the web-site. Of course they didn't spell things correctly on the milk cow over there, either. Those blasted Wilsons!
QuoteI will hold off on an official guess for fear of being locked out of the guessing until I think a little more on it.
You don't get locked out in my game. Bring on your guesses. Everyone of you has seen this sign and you know it. I may try to get pics of a lot of these employee service recognition signs this year - might make a good book.

Hey now, the cow has a name. The cow's name is Genesis (It is named in honor of Genesis, who was in charge of R&D for that area)
The John's Room sign is on the door to the H&G maintenance and break area, located between the men's and women's restrooms at Northwest, under Christmas Hollow.
^Yup. Read it a million times while waiting for the family to finish their business in that restroom. Little hint: go around the back way, and the line'll be much shorter, ladies.
And the final score for the '08 season is:
Scoreboard:

Who knew Swoosh would win. Boy, rube came up quickly in the time since he's been a member and might have given Swoosh a run had he gotten out of the blocks at the starting gun.
The 2009 game will begin in a few weeks - and in a new thread - with the score reset at zero.
I joined Nov 10!...I did well then? I hadn't looked at when the game started, so I had nothing to base it off of other than I want the job SWOOSH has being that familiar with the place! wanna trade jobs? You can teach for me..6 different subjects every day to middle school geniuses isn't that much of a challenge!
