Is the week after Christmas a very good time to visit? Crowd wise?
Thanks.

Definitely. I always hear reports from the last day or so where people have pretty much the entire park to themselves.
Of course, you never know what will happen, especially this year, but it's a good bet that crowds will be extremely light.
Also, you can take advantage of the many "SALES" that are going on in the City.
Thanks! We will be there the week of 12-26, should be a great time, weather permitting.
2 years ago, we went the week before Christmas and it was terribly busy.
Want to see Danny Eakin and his crew one last time this year and I always enjoy Judy Young.

I've never even thought about that...I'm going saturday, but I think i'm gonna plan another trip for after christmas.
After Christmas is a great time to go. Definitely. A lot of sales and one year it was really warm and we rode all the coasters and water rides several times in a row without ever having to get off and go through the queue again.
I have never seen the water rides run after September / October.. I thought they all were drained.
We like to go after Christmas, and again this year will be joining in on the fun 12/26 I think. Crowds have never been a problem with us during thst time. Great was to spend my birthday at the park! We'll make it a party right? Whose bringing the cake?
We usually go the last day of the year, but as we will be in Texas then, it will not be the case this year. Oh well.
If you are planning to go the week after Christmas you better do it this year. Next year they are only going to be open the 26th and 27th and then close for the season... This is probably be cause of the for mentioned lack of guests in the park. http://hfeimages.aristotle.net/General/SDC/SDC%2009%20cal.pdf (http://hfeimages.aristotle.net/General/SDC/SDC%2009%20cal.pdf)

That year, it was about ten years ago or so, it was unseasonably warm. A very mild fall and winter, so they weren't drained. That's the only year I know of when they were not drained by December.
I rode Buzzsaw Falls in November of 99.
^I think 99 is the year I'm thinking of, because I remember riding Buzzsaw Falls in November/December.
Well, thanks again everyone. Leaving Friday Morning. Will have Sat-Tues weather permitting. I wonder if they will have a bunch of CC merchandise clearanced.

Yes... and SDC stuff too.
Well we made the trip had had a great time. We actually went to SDC on Saturday night the 27th. A cold boogeroo! Stayed in the cabin with Danny and the boys and still nearly froze. Tried again on Sunday, good day and a good time. Drove out on Monday and made the big turnaround as all lots were full, no way gonna fight that mob. Tuesday was the best, beautful day; were there from 12:30 until 8. Really enjoyed the new Frosty show.
Disappointed in the Mill's high price for the buffet, we always eat there but with four of us $60 was too much. Snagged some great bargains on SDC merchandise, never did see any CC stuff. Overall great time, can't wait for Spring Break.

The Mill's buffet price at Christmas has been about that much the last couple of years, though, hasn't it?
When we ate there on the 21st- felt it was very over priced at the prime rib was questionable.
Just wanted to mention that the last 4 days of the park this year we went well over our expected number of guests. It was busy busy busy those last days of work.
I believe it was nearly double expectation each day.
I was in on the 26th, but I guess when I stopped by you were on a tour Doc. It was an unseasonably warm day-near 60, SO the place was packed, and that evening severe T-storms and tornadoes blew through the area, and the next day or two was COLD.
my family and i went on the 28th,it was a little cool but not to bad. alot of stuff in the shops especially the christmas stuff was marked to 75% off which ended up being good for our tree ect but bad for my pocket book lol. but honestly it was a good trip we had a guest with us and met some other family down there and made a wonderful day out of it
