Looking forward to making my 2nd trip into the city this saturday, didnt get to do too much the first time in, but I hope to get on a few rides and I want to see the monks and try some of the food for the 1st festival. Anyone want to recommand anything....I would really like to have another walking taco but have to wait until the end of the year
I'll be there on Friday, possibly Sat., the Monks & Feets of Fire are worth a third visit! How's the t-shirt/ buttons idea going to help identify members, anyone?
^I'd suggest wearing a carnation in your buttonhole. One of us will eventually figure out a way to identify each other. A button would be pretty easy.
^^What are you calling a "walking taco" and why can't you have one until the end of the year?
If I remember correctly that was the name of it "walking taco"
they sold it right next to the saloon and fire in the hole...
it was basically a taco salad in a small bag of doritos....not bad price and really good hot food, when it was snowing the day I had it. I didnt notice it till the end of the year last year.

I read that so quickly that the buttonhole didn't quite read that way... lol
and i'm still giggling a bit hahaha
also the walking tacos are pretty tasty....
One of these days I'll get some t-shirt designs out, hopefully before the summer break hits.
My girls and I are going to the park sat and Sun.... Bringing friends who have never been before. I always love bringing new people. Watch out Doc.. We are going to be on your cave tour ;) lol.....
We will be there the 25th. Making the 3 hour drive down, cramming in all the fun we can handle, and then headed right back home.
This will be the first time that my daughter is going to be tall enough to ride Fire in the Hole. So it's a big day for us.
I was going to suggest everyone buy one of the "sheriff" badges, but they don't cover all names. I can make some temp buttons with SDCFans on them until some nice ones are made, and possibly leave them at the cave desk with Doc? Then it would be easy for all of us to grab one on the way in? Just a thought. I will be there on Sunday, the 26th, unless i talk myself into Sat, too!
I'm probably going on Saturday as well. It would be cool to have a way to recognize each other, although we still may not see each other...it's a big park. ;)
I will be there Saturday. IDK if anyone will recognize me, but if you do say see me you can come say "hi" -- just also add that you are from sdcfans if you do so I'm not like "hiiii" and then trying to desperately search my brain for who you are.
Hey, I'll be there Saturday, too! I'm sitting here at school on my planning period waiting for this day to be over so we can leave. We'll be in Branson by suppertime tonight!
^LOL at to how many teachers are on this board.
I'm on my planning period right now too. ;D
Please do say hello, it's always good to meet people who also enjoy SDC for all that it is. ;D
Going to SDC this Sat. I am taking 2 more friends that have never been. This is going to be a weird weekend because my daughters are with their mother this weekend and are not going. I wonder what the park will be like without children.
I'll also be there tomorrow. I can't wait! It's my first trip of the season!
Oh how time flies, and I still have yet to come through with these shirt designs. This is my project for this week. Tinmann looked through my SDC paintings and found this one as a possibility though...

I *love* all your SDC paintings, rubedugans; just discovered them last night on Flickr. I would totally wear a shirt with that design on it. Just add a cool SDCFans logo that matches the style of the painting, and we'd have a great T-shirt for all of us to wear to id each other.

I want your "76" one for a tee shirt...and hat...and maybe boxer shorts...ok...maybe not
Going to be on park on Sat and Sunday. Anyone else going this weekend?
Would, but at home in KC right now. My cousin is coming back from Marine bootcamp late tonight, and my 1.5 yr old niece is getting blessed on Sunday. I will hopefully get down to SDC after I get back.... My comp repair didn't cost nearly as much as I thought it would (a very good reason to go to a local shop instead of Geek Squad), so I might be able to afford an SDC season pass after all.

I have toyed with the idea of finishing a few more paintings and creating a 12 month calendar of the park-art. I know I have a few months till 2010, and I would need to get these done ASAP to have them ready in December. Full color, 12 month, all original artwork of mine....Might be a market for that!
We'll be there Sunday with an SDC "virgin" -- should be interesting
I just got the e-mail from SDC about Kids Fest and other stuff, including Moonlight Madness... I think I might wait to go to SDC 'til the end of July. If you come to MM after 5pm, it's only $20, then you can upgrade to a season pass for $35 more... That'd make it a heck of a lot cheaper for me than buying a season pass regularly.
Plus, this'll give me time to find a job, save up some money ('cause you KNOW I'm gonna want to buy some pins), and what-not... And my friend wants to come down for Moonlight Madness, too.
So... yeah, I think I'm gonna make myself to wait a while 'til getting to SDC. Maybe it'll cool down a tad by then... (BIG wishing there, LOL)
