Title: Thunderation running one train
Post by: bradhig on August 11, 2009, 07:58:19 AM
When we visited SDC August 6 Thunderation's line was down the stairs and they were running only one train while the other coasters were running two.  Why were they running only one?  I didn't wanna wait so I didn't get to ride it.

Was the line also up the stairs?  If it was only in the lower section, was the entire queue being utilized?

It was only up the stairs not filling the queue.

It was like that last a week ago monday and tuesday.  I asked and they said they were not running the second one until after noon because that is when the next shift came in.

It sounds like the lines were not long enough to merit another train, but I wasn't there.

I like a line - it allows me time to read the walls in the queue.

I think that SDC has spoiled us a bit into believing that we should never wait in a line over 10 min.  I went to Fiesta Texas last year and waited in a line for an hour and had to laugh.  (Oh yeah, this is what a normal amusement park is like.)

LOL, very true. I'm reminded of it every time I visit Worlds of Fun. Even the older rides take longer to get on than on an SDC ride on a typical day.
