Construction/Rumors / Re: Your Attraction Ideas

My family had a lot of fun on the waterboggin'. We hated to see it go, especially if it wasn't going to be replaced with something right away. I would have like to have tried the Diving Bell and the Jim Owen's Float Trip before it was taken out.

I agree with more kids rides. The twins are finally tall enough to rude pretty much anything, but Anna is only 18 months old.  The ladybugs bore her.  I'm not even sure a what the point of having that ride is. I see many 45 minute wait times for the frogs in the near future.

I have a cool idea of getting rid of those balloons and creating a "hot air balloon" chair lift kind of ride to take you from one end of the park to the other and all in what would look like a hot air balloon.. . . wouldn't that be cool? lol

refurbished? it's going into storage to not be used... i doubt any money will go into it.

I still wonder if the new section of the park will 'dead end' like on Wildfire & Powder Keg, or if it will be connected to the backside of Lake Silver / Geyser Gulch.

I have no idea why any person who has ever ridden a vekoma coaster would ever want one at SDC.  I have ridden several and quite frankly hate them all.  B&M is a FAR superior coaster builder.  I think Chillins works for Vekoma's marketing department.

Random Talk / Knife collecting
November 03, 2014, 01:04:40 AM
I was wondering if any of you were knife collectors?? I am getting into collecting pocket knives of certain types and have ordered from Smoky Mountain Knife Works and I watch some of the knife shows on tv like KnivesLive TV and Cutlery Corner. Does anyone else share this interest? Avid or hobby wise??

Random Talk / Branson preshow

Has anyone seen the Branson preshow on youtube?  It's interesting and has a pretty catchy tune and lyrics.  It would be pretty cool if they used this for opening ceremonies for this year.

Branson Talk / Allendale/Sharp Resort
November 03, 2014, 12:51:17 AM
A place we stayed at every summer and fall while I was growing up was the Allendale/Sharp Resort down by Lake Taneycomo.  That was so much fun!  We'd go for walks down to the lake front and feed the geese.  We'd also walk through the city park down there.  We'd of course ride the Lake Queen and the Sammy Lane Pirate Cruise, which were both a blast!

Of course, all of this fell victim to the backhoe and was taken out to put in the Branson Landing.  I miss those places a lot!  It makes me feel old (I'm only 25!) that these places so filled with childhood memories are gone.  At least I still have photos of those vacations.  Does anyone else have fond memories of these places?  There were a lot of other resorts down there besides the Allendale/Sharp.  One I remember is the Sammy Lane Resort, which was on the historical register; I'm not sure how they were able to tear that one down.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Flooded Mine Score
November 03, 2014, 12:45:52 AM
I can't get the picture to load but my son (who will turn 2 in July) scored 106900 in the flooded mine on the last trip.
It was the first time he shot by himself so we were pretty excited.

Especially since DHs gun kept resetting!
