I think it's just part of their 2016 promotion, but I'm not positive about that.

Thanks for the fast and helpful comments!
SirWillow (or others), is a Friday or Sunday visit likely to be less crowded?
A Wednesday or Thursday visit would require two days off which might be hard to do, but we could take off one day to make a Friday or Sunday visit possible.

The SDC celebration for birthdays and anniversaries is a fun program with nice little perks. My husband and I were at SDC the day after our anniversary.
Stop in at the General Store for a button and list of goodies available throughout the park. As I recall, we got taffy at the General Store, kettle corn at one of the stands, peanut brittle at the candy store, and discounts at a couple of the shops.
The SDC staff throughout the park noted the buttons and wished us happy anniversary throughout the day.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Christmas crowds

We visited SDC on a Saturday in early December 2014 and found the crowd level to be too much for us. We parked at a bank in Branson West (I think), waited in a LONG line for a shuttle to the park, and found the park to be shoulder-to-shoulder people once we got inside.
We're debating trying again this year. We'd like to avoid using vacation time if possible, but is this Saturday (11/5) likely to be crowded like December Saturdays? Would a Friday (11/11 or 12/9) be significantly less crowded?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks all!
I booked a family suite (1 entrance, 2 rooms, 1 bath) at Green Mountain Inn for $90/night. It seems like a pretty good deal. We'll see!
I'll remember the Honeysuckle Inn for future trips.

So would a two bed room condo work for you
If the price was right!

Thanks, Sanddunerider. Bavarian Village is booked, but it looked like a good option.
Is anyone familiar with Indian Trails Resort? It looks quite nice.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Hotel recommendation?

I know, I know, Eagle Lodge, but unfortunately that won't work for us.
I need adjoining standard rooms or a suite with a separate bedroom for a trip next Sunday-Tuesday.
Eagle Lodge doesn't have adjoining rooms (Yet! Paige said they hope to connect some rooms this winter). Deer Run's suites are booked.
We've stayed at Stillwaters several times, but only in the off-season. Peak season prices are $200+. I'd like to find something closer to the $100-125 range. Any ideas?
Thanks!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Closing time crowds?

^ Ah, see, this is what I was worried about. I don't want his final memory from this trip to be the traffic/tram lines/etc as I want to make several trips to SDC this year AND I want to stay all day!
Based on the rain that's forecasted for this weekend, crowds probably won't be an issue.
Anyone have any rainy-day recommendations for SDC?!
Thanks for your comments.

Thank you, Zephon and DollarCityBoy! I'm glad to hear it's not a concern.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Closing time crowds?

My husband and I have been to SDC before, but not for several years. He HATES traffic! The Pathfinder indicates that the parking lots and road leaving SDC can be congested at closing time. What are your best tips for avoiding the congestion?
- Should we leave the park early? How long before closing time would we need to leave?
- Should we stay for the GAC show? I know this is probably the recommended option, but we're not terribly excited about country music. Is it informal enough that we could leave partway through the show without disrupting anyone? How long would it take for the congestion to ease?
- Do the restaurants close promptly at 6 pm? Could we stay and eat while the parking lot and roads clear?
Thanks for your help!
