If we can't remodel the classics, then can we at least make the cinnamon rolls and sticky buns a little bit bigger? You can never eat too many of those things!

Construction/Rumors / Re: If FM Is Leaving, What Does Its Last Season Look Like?
October 11, 2015, 07:31:43 PM
I completely agree that it would be a sad loss. It's a favorite of mine and many others. However, over the past few years the queue line has been noticeably low. I can't count how many times my wife and kids have been able to just stay on the ride for 2-3 times in a row due to lack of riders. I would rather the Lost River go before the FM, but during the summer the LR is super busy. I'm just glad to see the FITH still keeps people coming back to ride year after year.

I would like to see 2017 show some remodels on our fav rides. The FIH and FM need a severe makeover. I think some new touches here and there would be great for those rides. I would also like to see more street performers around the park. It seems like 15-20 years ago there was a lot more busy things to see around the park.

My two cents:
When you enter the park, go left to avoid coming up that Cardiac Hill. When you go left, you can hit the log ride(line goes fast), Wildfire, Powder Keg, and The Fire In The Hole all in one swoop. You can then cross over and ride the Tom Sawyer ride, Lost River, or both. You can then hit either the flooded mine, or go back down and it Grand Exposition(please ride the Racing Regalas...super fast). Then, on your way back up, you can ride the flooded mine(if you have not already), and then ride the train. If you don't want to do that, then go past the flooded mine and hit Thunderation(line is usually really short). I don't care for the Barn Swing, so I left that off. If you are fast and get there when the park opens, you should have no problem riding the "bigger" rides with little to no wait. In the summer, I have seen the line to Wildfire and Powderkeg really long and really short too. I am sad to say that usually the line to The Fire In The Hole and Flooded Mine are too short. They will usually just let you stay on the Flooded Mine until your fingers hurt from shooting so much. Don't miss the shows. They run many times during the day. So, to avoid the heat, I would choose to go to those during the middle of the day. However, most older people and families choose to do this as well. Take advantage of riding the Powderkeg and the Wildfire at night...so much fun.
Food: anything
DO NOT FORGET TO TOUR THE CAVE. DO THE LANTERN TOUR IF YOU CAN(do not go into that cave soaking wet from the water rides. You will regret it!)
That's just how my wife and I do by ourselves. We are twenty somethings who absolutely love SDC. With our kids in tow, we usually spend much of our time on Flooded Mine and at The Grand Exposition!

I grew up hunting and fishing all my life. I like guns and think all that choose to have one legally, can have one. There are businesses all over the country that might say they believe in something we don't, but we still buy their product anyway. If they believe that, then why do they allow the guns in the park that the characters use. They shoot prop bullets, but still hold the image of a gun being used. Can't believe everything you hear.

yeah it's totally not an option with the current build and format, but I guess a dreamer can dream. I like the train as is. I love the smell and feel while on it. A true step back into time for me.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Your top suggestions on making the park even better
August 03, 2011, 01:01:18 PM
I wouldn't mind having the FITH a tad bit slower speed. I know that ride was slower a few years ago.
I would take out a lot of the stupid novelty junk in the HH and around the park that nobody buys. Replace it with some period era items.
Take out some of the unecessarily long que lines
Lower the price on a few food items
Bring back the street shows that used to bring the crowd to a stop
Offer more days to support causes i.e. autism, veterans, metally handicap, single families, and other days to bring those types of families closer.
Keep the summer hours open longer and extend Moonlight Madness out a hour or two. It's so frustrating to have to leave the park at 7pm in the middle of July!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: need money storage ideas
August 03, 2011, 12:51:04 PM
we found on AMAZON.com, these water proof necklace wallets. They fit money, credit cards, and my cell phone in there. We needed them for our trip to Sea World last year. They work great at SDC because it's just right there around your neck, see thru, and water proof. Another idea we had was to make demographic laminated cards for my autistic son and two year old daughter. We laminated them and used safety pins to secure them to the back of their shirts. Just in case they some how got lossed in the mix, all of our information and who they were was easy to find out. Again, waterprof and in easy viewing.

It would be nice if they had an exit only station near the HH. That way you could skip cardiac hill and the traffice coming down the other hill. This would a lot easier to get around the park. But overall, I would hate to see anything changed about the railroad. I even hated the new trams that replaced the old green ones!!!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Looking for a season pass holder
August 03, 2011, 12:37:08 PM
if I remember correctly, you don't have to show a season pass holder to use those. I've seen many people just use those passes and walk right in. In fact, I have mailed several BAF's to people on forums that don't have a season pass at all. If that's the case, you could maybe find someone on here to meet up with and they could get you in, but I don't think you would have a problem just using the BAF's on their own.

I couldn't agree more JUNIOR. As someone who grew up going to SDC as a kid, I can see the frustration of you and the others that gave away the tickets. We would drive 6 hours from Texas every year to go to SDC a few days during our week vacation in Branson. It was a treat for us to go. My mom and dad saved all year for us to go. We would buy single tickets, and usually do that two or three times during that vacation week. For someone to have given us a free pass would have been like giving us a piece of pure gold. We loved SDC so much and still do. I would have never done that to my family or friends who gave me a free ticket. We would have stayed all day and even saw the show at closing. Now, my wife and I buy our season passes, but my children this year, have approached the age to where they have to have tickets too. We will have to buy them tickets on our second Branson vacation this year. I now see the struggles my parents took to make sure we could have a nice time at SDC. If you can't appreciate family and the memories that SDC will produce, you shouldn't even bother stepping in the park(whether free ticket or not) at all. Sorry, but I had to add my opinion in on this.
