we get plenty of people in the cave who have consumed some alcohol.  I have turned in my fair share of guests of whom I've suspected.
As for the cave being a state park - we are privately owned.

and as for the comment about being Christian and not drinking? didn't Jesus serve wine at the Last Supper?

just saying drinking isn't bad, drinking to excess is.  it can be done right

I won't be there until the weekend... teaching schedule and all... so I hope to be giving cave tours march 20th

Well.. hmmm.. hahahaha
I figured I'd chim-in...
I'm going away from the cave for the Christmas Festival.  I'll be over at the flooded mine-Doc turned convict for the winter.
So i'll make sure to get some shots of the winter progress.

unedited shots.. lol

Just finished my first 4 days back in 6th Grade.  It was a pretty awesome week.. The students still are very reserved and quiet.  It would be nice to liven them up just a little.

PBS was an interesting discipline/behavior management system... it didn't seem to work well with the older students but in the elementary it worked great.

I'm busy rewriting my curriculum.  I didn't really like the textbook for reading so .. basically i'm working out of lit-sets and I think it's going to keep me pretty busy planning.

He's just opting to avoid saying something he shouldn't on a public forum, now that he's a brand-new employee.

He's on Facebook, though, as is our favorite cave guide.

LOL... Yes, I'm on facebook and back to this site.. for over a month or two now.
SteamFreak i think is lurking reading comments..

I was ready to come back and thinking that I could make sure I didn't over speak..

anyway.. i went on the train ride 3 times recently once, not with SF though, but i did ride once around with him telling me all the things I've never noticed before.  The actors were as good as i remember them but then again i've only been coming to the park since 1988

".... Some meeting time with the higher ups would be fun too."

Well, you could have gotten some of that meeting time.. Pete H was on park spinning his top and taking questions while practicing and teaching top spinning.

The bros are on park frequently and are great to talk with, such a wealth of information.

i don't know about then but last year i would go in dressed in my convict costume and scare people riding through .. lol

And believe it or not we use this information on our lantern tour...
depending on who you go with and the time constraints we go into the HTBlow story

And I'm hoping to get down to Marvel Cave on Sunday and get on Doc's tour. It'll be the first SDCFan member I'll have ever met!
Joy

Probably not.. i've got your picture at the desk and told them to make sure you don't get in on my tour! ;-)

I'm with ya on all those. And here's another: fly hot air balloons in the Cathedral Room of Marvel Cave.

I was telling my friend about how I'd missed seeing that by one day the last time they did it, and I thought "Oh hey, they should do that for the 50th celebration!"

Joy
from what i heard the balloons created quite a problem the last time they were brought in in 1994 so probably not going to happen. though i would love to have seen it

we use the clicker at the cave because we can only take 60 people on each tour and well.. have you ever tried counting to 60 when people want to say hello? lol clicker keeps us on track..

i imagine its the same type of thing at the theater buildings... fire code and all... only a certain number are allowed in.
