It would be cool if they could book Fighting Gravity for this festival!

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: Christmas crowds
November 03, 2016, 09:44:22 AM
November should be better than December. The main reason being is that the bring a friend passes don't become active until late November early december. However if the weather remains nice the crowds will be up as well. My family is going in November in an effort to beat the crowds. We shall see if that is the case.

Construction/Rumors / Re: SDC's 2017 Project Part 2

I've seen the Osborne lights in person twice. It would be awesome if this is true. Note the sections from Osborne are the structures the lights are on not everything you see in the videos. The actual lights them selves were cut down after the last year. So don't judge it too harshly. When I was at hollywood studios this was the only display that felt more like Christmas than silver dollar city to me. If SDC animated them the way Disney did it would be cool. But the Osborne lights did not start out being synced to music that came later.

When thunderation opened the long que area was very much used. I remember the year it opened we had to wait all the way through the que area. Waiting on the stairs was the pits. It is definitely time for it to be re purposed.

The pottery shop.

The water fountain that is on top of a barrel. It magically knows you are there. Aka triggered by the electric eye.

It is on the wall above the electric eye drinking fountain. Just around the corner from the frozen lemonade stand that is across from the kettle corn area.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Pop up parties
March 16, 2016, 04:19:40 PM
I just came across this on SDC's Facebook page yesterday. They have taken place on different rides throughout the city. The people selected have gotten free refill mugs, tickets to a lantern tour, white water tickets and such. I think its a nice new twist on spring ride days. The pop up parties continue through the end of March. I am headed down to the city on Friday and maybe a ride I'm on at the time will get selected. This definitely is a way to create memories worth repeating. I hope it works out for the park and could at least be an annual thing they do. The reason SDC gives for them is to celebrate the American family. What do you guys think or is this the first you have heard of this?

Random Talk / Re: Naturist sdc fans

Well I didn't know my love of the outdoors made me a naturist but I guess I am one. I love seeing the different seasons at SDC. Being in and around all the plants is one of the things that sets SDC apart from other parks for me.

For a busy weekend like this you will want to ride the train early. It usually gets to be a longer wait later in the day. Make sure you top in the taffy shop first thing in the morning to see what flavors of taffy they are making that day. If you are there for one of the demos you get a fresh pull of taffy. Its really good fresh off the machine. If you like caves the lantern tour is well work the 10.75 a person. You really get a feel for how big the cave is not to mention all the stories you get to hear. The candy shop is must to stop by. They do demos every hour and the samples are a sweet treat after seeing the cool demo. Two of may favorite places to eat in the mark is the mine buffet and the riverside ribhouse close to the lost river.

I could believe someone complaining of neck pain after riding powderkeg but not outlaw run. I'm afraid of what will be added to this ride.

This is the first World Fest I wasn't easily able to attend the shows. I didn't mind it all that much since the kids had fun anyway. What really blew me away on sunday was the long wait times for thunderation. I actually walked away from that ride when I saw how far back down the stairs the line was. Here is hoping the bluegrass and bbq fest will be lighter attended.
