Quote from: kbosch1 on Today at 11:28:16 AMSo basically, Epcot's Soarin or Animal Kingdom's Avatar Flight of Passage? Fantastic rides. Need a long queue as the ride times are lengthy. In the video it shows that the attraction loads one side, while the other side is riding. Pretty cool feature to cut wait times.

This is perfect to place where the old Fire in the Hole is. You can use the existing structure. It would give the park another weather resistant ride which can work in all conditions. The movie could be a "Soar over the Ozarks", with a Old Time Christmas replacement of "Rudolph the Red nose reindeer Flight. "

Here is my 1st big expansion for the park. It would be placed in the Old Fire in the hole building to save money, or just tear down the building but that would take longer. It checks all the boxes. Family thrill ride, indoor attraction which can run in any weather and can be updated by changing the movie. For most of the year would run a movie "Soaring Over the Ozarks" as
someone created a Flying Carriage and during Christmas it could have Santa Sleighride experience. It is a new kind of motion theatre. I was at the park last week in the rain and much of the rides were down. This would always be open. Also this side of the park needs an attraction as if Powder Keg is down there is nothing to draw guests,Intamin Motion Theatre link

October 25, 2024, 08:31:13 AMQuote from: Duelist on October 24, 2024, 08:33:02 AM^ I don't want SDC to turn into Dollywood. I fully agree SDC needs more indoor attractions but I don't think Bumper Cars should be one of them. Below is a concept the park had considered doing from a survey done in 2011. I think this would be a great indoor ride.Quote from: Joy on May 04, 2011, 12:45:22 AMReminds me of a Steeplecase ride like at Cedar Point.
Stagecoaster: A team of horses idle between two stagecoaches. Choose your mount and strap into the saddle. Your horse suddenly takes off and you are off at a furious pace, hunched close to the ground. Your pace seems even faster as the landscape whips past you at breakneck pace. As you ride the coaster, swerving left and right, you follow tight curves as canyon walls flash past you, closely hugging hills and gullies, bounding through gulches with the rest of your team. The coaster ride is fast & furious filled with hairpin turns and narrow escapes and despite the urgency of your ride, you find the experience surprisingly exhilarating!

October 24, 2024, 07:52:42 AMQuote from: runner1960 on October 24, 2024, 06:11:52 AMBumper cars are not a "Carnival attraction" and they have them at many parks including Dollywood. It doesn't need to be the pickers at the theatre. I picture the theatre like sitting around a campfire. It would be a theatre in the round. As for the the old FITH if the building is not useable then you can tear it down and build a new one. A enlarged two-story saloon dinner show would be great.Quote from: Duelist on October 23, 2024, 03:39:05 PM^ I still disagree. We just had the Arkansas State Fair. You can ride bumper cars there. I don't want them at Silver Dollar City. Just my opinion.
I agree too. The last thing SDC needs is more carnival type attractions. Leave out the midway games also. No need to six flags it up more than it is. As for the relocation of the pickers , the quaintness and interaction would be gone putting them in a large area. FITH hole building is shot and there is no saving that moldy thing. There is a reason it was shut down.

Yes, Bumper Cars themed to buffalos. It is a great indoor attraction which which is weather proof. This is much needed in the park as most attractions are outside. I love a good bumper car ride.

He is my plan for Silver Dollar City. Area A would be 1st connecting Wildfire to Powderkeg. This area would have a StarFlyer Swing ride, a new covered outdoor theatre for the Homestead Pickers and a new covered food stand. The Theatre would have rocking chairs and have a large fire pit. Area B would be next and would repurpose the Old FITH building as the new Silver Dollar Saloon. Tripling the size of the old theatre this would include a full service restaurant. The new attraction would be a flying theatre which would be themed to flying over the Ozarks. Also included would be a large covered Midway games area. Area C would be last and would include a Vekoma Family Coaster like BIG Bear at Dollywood named the Sherriff. It would interact with Outlaw Run. Also in the area would be the Grand Carousel, a Bumper Car Pavilion another coffee/bakery, large souvenir stand and restroom. It would also have a second station for the train and second entrance for the park. The second entrance would be for resort guests only and the park and resort would be connect by an access road which resort guests would ride "coaches" to and from the park. What do you think??

I believe it was more or a choice by the director of entertainment. They need just retire the show as it is so bad now.Quote from: Jesus4me on October 09, 2024, 03:45:47 PM
Hopefully one of the new shows is a return to the original music to the Christmas Carol. Since they changed the songs from the original ones it is unwatchable.
Don't get your hopes up; the change was made due to copyright issues.

September 20, 2024, 02:05:16 PMQuote from: Old Guy on September 19, 2024, 07:43:16 PMDid not think of the Branson Bell, but I could see them move that along with White Water to the land they purchased. Only makes sense. A Resort or two, connected by a train line to the park, water park and Branson Belle new docking area would be amazing.
Many years ago, I was asked for a design for White River Landing. It was supposed to be a little village with shops, restaurants, and a land-based theater in addition to the Bell. They thought twice and never did it, probably because of the government-leased land. The new resort is on a peninsula with its own cove, so I would not be surprised to see such a thing developed on that property, and the Bell moved there in the not-distant future. The idea is to make the resort a destination of its own, even if you don't stay there. That's much like Big Cedar or Top of the Rock. Catfish restaurant on the lake, Boathouse theater with melodramas and comedy, that sort of thing.

I am expecting a Grand Resort Hotel overlooking the lake. An expansion the Cisco Railroad with a second station. Repurposing the old FITH building into a larger saloon with a full sit down restaurant. Adding a coaster wooden GCI customer coaster in the back of the Grand Exposition in the parking lot area and completely revamping the Flooded mine with a new ride system and animatronics.

2025 Hopefully brings a new Christmas event. They ruined the Christmas Carol show by changing the songs and replaced the beloved It's a Wonderful Life. They could use at least one new show and a new parade or at least an expanded parade as it is really short. I have season passes to SDC and Dollywood and they are adding some kind of flying theatre in the near future, I got a survey about its name. The park should add a Flying theatre in the old FITH building. The park needs more weather resistant rides.

May 22, 2024, 03:16:51 PMQuote from: Okiebenz on May 20, 2024, 06:13:15 PMIf they were going to retrack the ride they would have to make room for the equipment. It is metal track not wood and cannot be done by hand. Hopefully it is there next project. If the park thinks the trees could cause problems then It would be great to add building facades or more tunnels.
Why would they need to clearcut that area? Would that be required to rebuild the track? If that is the case, seems like it would be a totally different experience.

Old FITH building should be either a flying theatre like SOARIN at Epcot or a new Saloon replacing the smaller one next store with a bigger, more seating and a full-service restaurant menu. Then replace the old Saloon with a Flying Scooters ride.

April 11, 2024, 07:43:15 AMQuote from: sdcfan88 on April 10, 2024, 02:15:43 PMMy Guess is news trains and possibly new track. Loc Ness Monster at Busch Gardens just had a refurb and it is also an Arrow Coaster. Hopefully they add a little more theming around the ride path also. Especially the second lift hill.
When I was at the media event for FITH 2.0 the SDC big wigs said that Thunderation is undergoing a multi year maintenance overhaul so it can be enjoyed for years to come. SDC recognizes the uniqueness and nostalgic value of that coaster considering it was their first big thrill ride/coaster. As for the old FITH I directly asked about it and all they would say is what's not going there is a new Train Station.
