I'm a little perturbed about them cutting the bluegrass and gospel/country music festivals short. The new spring fest sounds weak. I think they are spending their performers budget this year on Rhonda Vincent coming in for Christmas. To be fair, that sounds like it will be awesome.

Yes! This! Oh my goodness. I realize that bluegrass may not be everyone's jam, but this was a huge draw for me and my family. Now everyone who enjoys the visiting bluegrass groups will have to squeeze in together during those 12 days. Really disappointed. To me, this somewhat overshadowed the other announcements. I am happy though, to see that Rhonda Vincent will be there during Old Time Christmas. I suspect this will replace the current "Coming Home for Christmas" show.

Construction/Rumors / Re: Festival survey
March 01, 2024, 08:05:48 AM
I took the survey as well. Interestingly, my survey was just the opposite. On my survey, there was a heavier focus on the Great American Exhibition, and less focus on the Flower and Food Fest. However, I was not thoroughly excited about either of the two concepts. Perhaps it was due to the way it was presented, but they both seemed somewhat weak to me. I hope whatever they go with I am pleasantly surprised by.  :)

In believe they intend on opening Fire in the Hole on opening day, but have left the date ambiguous in case there are any unforeseen delays. I imagine we will get a definitive date once opening day draws closer.

General Silver Dollar City Talk / Re: SDC Logo
June 13, 2023, 08:03:00 AM
They made it "Facebook official" this morning. I posted a comment on how the bottom limb was facing the wrong direction on the new logo. My comment was swiftly silenced by the person who runs their social media. I am not sure if changing the orientation of the bottom limb was an oversight, or perhaps an artistic choice. Either way, I think the new logo is... serviceable.  ;)

Predictable, I suppose  ;D

Can't wait for August when we can finally get excited for the big announcement. We've been talking about the new FITH for years and years now. We will have watched the construction for three years by the time it opens. Sure hope it is worth the wait.
When do you expect the announcement to be, because I believe they will not wait until august to do it

Time Traveler was announced in August before opening year, and Outlaw Run was announced in August before opening year. I believe August would be a good educated guess. ;D

Engine 14 is a beauty! With Engine 14 this year, and Engine 504 last year, what are the rumors, or speculations for Engines 13, 43, and 76? Any future retirement plans? Either way, this is an exciting time for the Frisco Silver Dollar Line! ;D

Of all places, there were several copies in the candy factory when I was there a couple of weeks ago. I picked up a copy of the DVD while also grabbing some fudge.  ;D

Construction/Rumors / Re: Christmas at Silver Dollar City

I unexpectedly ran into Tim Tracker by the front entrance. He was being escorted by a Silver Dollar City staff member. Talk about a surprise! ;D

Picture attached. Sorry, sirwillow. :)

Just out of coincidence, I will be there on November 11th. I did not know ACE was attending also. It should be a fun, yet packed city! ;D

Branson Talk / Re: Branson Live Cams
July 09, 2017, 03:34:41 PM
I noticed this as well! Back in March, I was a dork and used the webcams to take a screen shot of myself outside the Titanic. Unfortunately, for the past several years, the webcams were always dirty from the outside elements, and hard to see through. However, I still viewed them regularly. Bummer.  :'(

Great pictures, sirwillow! And yes, you are definitely the professional. Haha.

Despite the dark environment, you did a great job of capturing the action with as little motion blur as possible. Impressive! The colors in your pictures really pop. I have tried taking pictures on the Flooded Mine, but I end up having to use the flash on my camera. Needless to say, that "technique" totally washes out the mood lighting, and the ambiance. :P

I love the shot of the loading, and unloading operator working the control panel. What an interesting prospective! Keeping spoiling us rotten with your pictures please! :D

Sanddunerider came up with a great list of updated items. Does anyone else know of even more items on the ride that have been updated?

I know I am late to this post. However, any success with your pictures sirwillow? I know you are the professional. ;D

On a side note, the Flooded Mine does look absolutely amazing! I was so surprised, and excited when I first saw all of the updates this year. I give huge props to tinmann620, and the gang over there at the Flooded Mine. Here is to another 50 seasons! ;D
