Went to the park this past Friday & Saturday. Just 4 of us, had plans for more people going with us, but they all backed out.
Got to the park around 5p Friday. Paid $117.00 for a 2 day pass. Went straight to FITH. Most everything seemed to be working, it was so much fun. Rode PK next, the crowd was very light. Rode OR next, that ride is so awesome! Then the wife & her daughter rode the GS. Got something for supper, wife & i had a BLT wrap, it was pretty good. Hit FM next, a few of the guns weren't working. It was starting to get dark, so of course we rode TNT. Not bad for a first day and getting there at the end of the day.
Day 2 we didnt do too much. Only stayed until 1p or so, it was getting pretty busy. Got an ECV kart for the first time ever. I was pretty sore from the day before, i have bad hips & arthritis in my knees. That kart was so helpful! Went straight to FITH again for our last & final ride until next year. Sorry to see the ole gal go, but am really looking forward to the NEW FITH, i think its going to be great. We waited on OR for about 20 minutes, for them to do their final checks. When it opened, we were the only ones on the coaster. My brother & i rode in the front. OR is such a wicked ride, that we bought an OR shirt. Went & watched the Saloon show. My wife has never seen it, so that was cool.
Everyone was so tired from the night before, & getting up WAY too early. All of us are used to getting up between 4-5a during the work week in normal life. It is hard to sleep late when you know you have things to do all day. It was a great weekend at SDC. Can not wait to go next year & ride the new FITH!!

Just a quick report.. Went to SDC Sat & Sun, Sat was not busy at all! We got there around 2'ish & got on 4 rides with no wait at all!! It was awesome! Stayed until about 4:30 or so. Sunday we got there for breakfast & opening ceremonies. Park didnt get too busy until about 11a. Thought it was weird that Sun was busier than Sat, but i guess we made the right decision to go the weekend after Labor Day. Aint seen the Saloon show in probably 5 or so years, it was pretty good. We left about 4:30. Saturday, all the effects & sound were working on FITH & FM. Sunday was a different story.. By 11a, 3/4 of the coasters were shut down. Rode the train & checked out some shops. All in all it was a great visit. Stayed at Shady Acres in the 2 bedroom house - apartment above the office, it was awesome! Private porch to boot. $116 a night. See ya all next time..!! :)

Made it to the park Thurs & Fri. Didnt go to the park Thurs until around 7p, it was freaking HOT - HUMID!! We had relatives from Tenn with us, so we just walked around the park. Rode FITH & walked through GM, & watched the fireworks show. They went to SDC breakfast and got the rotating table. lol! Enjoyed opening ceremonies & headed for MRF's. Waited 30 minutes for the actual ride to open. Got on, got wet.. Then hit one of the corners of the ride & my wifes cheek bounced off my shoulder. She was ok, but, just as we got to the lift, it stopped. Waited about 10 minutes & they got us all off the ride. They did give us a voucher for a free ride of our choice. Had some other relatives from Springfield meet up with us, & all of us rode FITH. After that we all sat around & talked for an hour or so. Got some slushes, walked through some of the shops, & enjoyed just hanging out with family. The wife & i left around 1p, got something to eat in Branson West, & went swimming in the motel. Our other folk rode FM & used the vouchers for another ride on MRF's. Thursday was busier than Friday. Friday seemed bearable, temp wise. They got back around 3p, we ate & went & played mini golf & called it a day. Went to bed early, got up early, & headed home. All around it was a great trip. We may not have done much, but it was fun just being with family at SDC. Considering our parents took us back in the 70s. I made a picture video of our trip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5bqHDQbwhI That is the link to it on YouTube. Did see the John & Amy Burton folks walking by, but just didnt have time to say hi. We have figured out that maybe next time we will go when it is a little cooler, but we are all ok. Till next time, see ya later & have fun at SDC!! :)

Well, that wasn't so bad wearing a mask for 5 hours, Saturday from 5 - 10pm, for Moonlight Madness last night at the park. We would have stayed longer, but the lines were getting really long once the sun went down. When we first got there, it wasnt bad. Got to get on 2 rides right off the bat. FITH & River Blast. Chilled for a little bit, got really wet on River Blast right before the sun went down. Ate some supper, watched some fireworks, rode FM one time, did some shopping, ate - bought some cinnamon bread,  bought 4 SDC shirts, and left the park. After 5pm was only $30+. We did try to get on MRF, but one time it was shut down because a raft got stuck on top, & the other time, the line was just too long.  Not bad for a full Saturday. Definitely a well needed get away. I learned if ya breathe through your nose while wearing a mask, it wasn't so bad and don't give ya a headache. Back home tomorrow, back to normal life. Not bad for 50 - 60 year old folks. Everyone seemed to respect the mask situation, maybe 1 out of the 50th person didnt have theirs on. Social distancing waiting for the rides was, eh.. Some did, some did not. -- We did stay at Shady Acres Motel in between SDC & Branson West. Reason being, we called Ozark Valley Inn ( a month ago ) to get a room reserved for before check in time, 3pm, because we were planning on being there around 1pm, but they wanted to charge us an extra $15 an hour just to do so. So we just said no Thank You & called Shady Acres. But, no matter what, we had a great time for doing a 1 day trip from KC, to going to SDC at night, to waking up early this morning & coming home. We are all glad we went, good to see ole SDC again!!

Well, we are going to try & go to the park Aug 8th for Moonlight Madness. Hope to get the after 5pm tickets for the $30+. Gunna have back up masks just in case. As my brother keeps saying, we just wanna be at the park. He did send them an E mail about the limit on people at the park, & he was told not to worry about it, & that they do not see it being a problem. Cant wait!!

If we go to the path on the right, then it's TNT, FITH, & PK.  If we go left, it's usually PK, FITH, then FM.

Went to the park Saturday with my wife, my brother, step daughter, & her boyfriend who has never been to SDC. Spent about an hour in the hospitality house first. Got there when they opened & tried to hit TT, but there was a line already, so we rode TNT first. It made the newbie boyfriend a little dizzy. As we walked off, we noticed TT had no line. Step daughter had never riden it yet. It only took about 30 minutes & they were done. She really enjoyed it. Her boyfriend & i had walked down to the train station because he used to work for the rail road in KC. Gave him another chance & put him on the FM & FITH. He seemed to enjoy shooting the guns in FM. Everything seemed to be working ok on FM & FITH. Walked around to where Tom & Hucks ride was, & spent about 30 minutes shooting people with water cannons. ( that never gets old ) Kinda jacked around & step daughter got a funnel cake, & my brother got a skillet meal. -- Took off from the park & rode go karts, played a round of mini golf & the newbie boyfriend beat me by about 2-3 strokes. My brother & i took about a 2 hour sleep fest & we headed back around 6. -- Piddle paddled around by the square cuz a guy was doing a sound check with a electric guitar & he was really jammin'. Went over by Grandpas Mansion & gave it a walk thru. Headed down to the AP. We convinced the step daughters boyfriend into riding in back.. We all leaned forward down the hill & he got the worst of it, but he really enjoyed it. Walked around the park waiting for it to get dark. Tried to ride PK, but the line was out of the building, so we scratched on that. Went & got the $6.00 hamburger deals & headed to OR. We waited cuz they were taking a train off. By the time we were 2nd ones to get on to ride, they put the train back on. But, it was dark by then!! OR in the dark was a blast!! You could not tell where the bottom of the hill was, or where you were going!! Just as we got off, the fireworks show started, so we sat on a park bench & watched. It lasted about 7 minutes. Finally to the train for the newbie. We rode in the dark, in the back, & it put the step daughter to sleep. LOL! We couldnt get here livened up after that, so we left.. :( It was right at 11pm. -- As always, GREAT time at SDC, & Moonlight Madness. Nothing to really trip on or complain about, just another flawless trip from us veterans SDC goers who like to take newbies. -- Ozark Valley Inn was great. Beds were soft enough, & it was quiet. We never ate any breakfast there, so..
