Not my cup of tea. I'd probably ride it once since I've never been on anything like it, but I can't imagine wanting to ride it more than that.

Now I'm thinking I won't be coming down this weekend, as I am desperately in need of some plumbing work at this time, so there goes the gas and motel money. :-(

I am heading down for the 4th of July weekend, probably going to SDC on Saturday. Anybody else planning on being there this weekend?

I'll most likely be down for holiday weekends. When you don't have paid vacation time, you need to take advantage of those holiday weekends....

I would love to have an Air Race at the park.  I think it would almost need a Steam Punk theme for it to "work" but it would be awesome. 

I'd consider Doc Harris to be Hillbilly Steampunk. ;-)

I was watching Heroes of Cosplay one evening last week, and I woke up later that night from a crazy dream thinking that Branson needed to have a Doc Harris Steampunk Cosplay Event at the Convention Center. 

I never met any of the group on Sunday, but I still had a good time with lots of great bluegrass music and BBQ. :-)

Unfortunately, the GAC Country Nights show was canceled after only a couple of songs in the second set because of lightning in the area. :-(

Day 1 of mini-vaca:  Drop boat off at storage facility and head to SDC!  Yay!  Oops!  Not so fast!  Replace leaking toilet in condo and figure out why AC is leaking profusely all over the floor!  Oh, and multiple trips to Lowes for another part.

Day 2:  SDC!  (Unless something else decides to leak).

The lack of "World Fest"-ive decorations is due to the park-wide theme for this year.  Believe me, World Fest isn't going anywhere anytime soon.  Sorry, but let's squish that rumor right now.

Good! Though I don't always make it, World Fest is one of my favorite festivals at SDC!

I'm planning on being in Branson for Memorial Day weekend, and I'm currently planning on being at SDC on Sunday (and maybe late Saturday for a while, depending on when I get to town and can get into my motel). Currently, I'm planning on dressing in red (Spirit of St. Louis Air Show and STEM Expo t-shirt), white (tennis shoes) and blue (Navy shorts). ;-)

I haven't met any of you yet, so if you see me say "Hi" and mention your on the forum. Always glad to make new friends. :-)

I've got to agree with several of you: I go for the entertainment (and that includes the demonstrating craftsmen) first, with the rides as a secondary attraction to me. If I just wanted roller coasters, I'd go to Six Flags which is a heck of a lot closer to home, but lacks the atmosphere.

I do remember the man in the boat......but as I remember it which isn't that clear.  The conductor would shoot his gun and a stream of water would come up like the boat had just been hit.  That's all I recall!

That's what I remember, too...from my early childhood. 

Dang, sure got a lot of computer professionals on a forum for a theme park that celebrates the 1880s.
