The treehouse. I remember going up there as a kid and while looking back I now see all the stuff I have grown up with there kinda stupid I do think if they put time in it they can really make it exciting for all ages. Anyway it is just sitting there. Teasing us. Especially young kids. I would hate to be a kid today seeing it knowing I can never climb up that tree.

Wow! Seeing all of this construction kinda makes me feel uneasy about the Fireman's Landing. I mean I hate to be that guy. I want to look forward to the new stuff and I want to keep an open mind, but for every new area I feel like the park I grew up in is dying. I know as one grows older the magic filter you see as a kid is gone and you really do start realize things for what they are. Though these changes are just kinda changing the park.
I hate the Grand Exposition area as it looks to modern. I love Outlaw Run though I wish some older looking material was used in that area and there were more trees. When I heard of the Landing I thought this was a great idea. I mean the theme fit well, much better than Geyser Gulch ever did. Though the thought of the buildings from Greedy Bros. being gone is just weird and I feel like it would take away much of the charm the lake had.
Seeing the toy barrel gone makes saddens me. I remember looking at it as a kid in awe. I remember walking past there this last summer in awe just because of the quality of it and the charm. Plus, I have always thought that area had a very interesting, unique feel. With the way the buildings come together and the ivy ceilings and wooden statues on top the building. It'll be weird seeing this gone.
It really is weird seeing all this stuff looking like Grand Expo. Really I think I would have a different feeling about the area when I walk around. Walking through the Grand Expo really makes me remember why I love the City. Cuz I hate that part so much and when walking around the other areas of the park where more classic attractions stand and older buildings full with the neat older looking art signs.
The City has influenced me so much as an aspiring artist. I really hate seeing stuff go away like this.
Sorry for going off topic. I thought this would be a nice place to just vent my reaction to these changes in the park and overall change in it.

I'm guessing they are going with the Firehouse idea. I hope some Baldknobber references are in it. It would be awesome if they tied it all into Fire in the Hole.

The face is gone. They have taken the face out and replaced it with a line of lights. It has to be the stupidest, cheapest replacement ever.

Some changes I spotted in the park that aren't yet listed.
The Ghost Trap down the by the Huck Finn Treehouse seems to have a better motion sensor! It worked everytime me, my cousin, and my sister walked pass it. Usually it take 10 minutes of us jumping around it looking like idiots for it to go.
Not sure how long this has been though the head in whirlpool in American Plunge is gone. Don't know if that is something changed or if it has been like that for a while.
In Fire in the Hole, the cowboy guy in the beginning of the ride with cow has been taken out. Along with other change in Fire in the Hole is a Baldknobber standing right where the train hill is. I was thrilled to see another Baldknobber!
I know this isn't new to this year, but new by the end of last year, but the changes of characters in the Flooded Mine. Some of the original ones are left though it looks like a lot were replaced by these nice shiny looking ones. They scare me.
In Grandpa's Mansion it looks like we got a new looking Grandpa sitting up in the window above the interest. It looks like Grandma is taking shower without any problems and her head is also removed from the mirror for a stupid multiple light thing. I want Grandma's head back in the mirror. I feel like some charm went out of that mirror. Also a new gag in basement has you look through a whole to end up looking at your eye.
Something else, but one time I went through there a worker was sitting by the music box up front. Not sure if this is something new (having worker's sit up front on occasions) or something the worker was doing to scare people (it worked on my cousin) during a break, but I thought I would share that. I found it funny.

I think Mr. Freeze would've been nice over by Batman and the Joker. Have a little Gotham themed area. Maybe doing something with best superhero ever, Robin over there! I am excited to see more DC Comics stuff coming to park though I do get what you all are saying. Six Flags has changed A LOT from the time I remember going and you all remember.
Also thanks for telling me the history of the rides that been used. Its hard thinking that a ride that has been there so long in some form is being drained. Maybe they can make theme it around Aquaman or the Batcave and just change the boats. I don't know, but its sad to think a classic is being totally changed.

Thanks! The change of theme makes sense. I always thought it was odd they had a place called DC Plaza with all of the DC stuff with Scooby Doo thrown in it and has a huge DC fan I'm excited to see how it will look. However I am kinda bummed to hear Scooby leaving. For as long as I could remember the Scooby ride was always there. Though the past year or two I realized so much of the ride just had a bunch stuff that wasn't working. There was time the Mystery Machine in the ride was taken out, Shaggy and the Wolfman chase seen not working, and often time there were scenes that were dark.
I didn't know about the boats having trouble. It explains why the Scooby line is so long though. I also didn't know the boats were the original for Injun Joe's. Thanks for sharing! Also a bit of the shame the water will be gone.
Since we're on the subject of the ride do you know anything else behind the scenes of the Scooby ride and the rides before?

Other Parks / Six Flag St. Louis Loosing Scooby Doo?

I was at the park a couple days ago and walking to Mr. Freeze and Captain Marvel (I refuse to call it Shazam!) and of course I walked passed Scooby. The sign said sometime in September (I forgot the date) that Scooby will be closed permanently. Does anyone know anything about this? Honestly if it isn't SDC I am pretty clueless of what is happening in theme parks. Is this just a maintenance thing for the rest of the season? Or could they be changing it to Looney Tune or DC theme (a DC comic theme would make since the part of the park is called DC Plaza)?

I don't like them either. I'd rather just look around at the scenery. Have you ever noticed the smell in there? That water on concrete smell? It's almost as good as the smell of asphalt! Hubs thinks I'm nuts when I mention it. LoL!
That is like one of my favorite things about the Flooded Mine!

I'm guessing they will place it where that old barrel ride was. Hope it doesn't mess up the clown thing they have going on around that area during Fright Fest. That is my friend and I's favorite place to hang around during that time of year.

I still want the guns and targets in there mainly because those have been part of the ride since I was a kid though it probably wouldn't matter much. I always liked looking around and trying to find out how all the dummies worked in the ride anyway and spotting all the gags.
