We weren't complaining about a seven-minute wait - we were commenting about seven minutes between trams.  That doesn't mean we caught the first tram.  It took 30 to 40 minutes to finally catch a ride.  Getting back to the parking lot, by the way, did not take that long for us.

C'mon, people, let's let up on the joking. I'm sure dwfan was just talking about a trip previous to this year and forgot to mention it.

dwfan

It was a past trip, and by the way I forgot to mention you all are NOT funny! lol just kidding! :)

Ohh where to begin. This trip was great. I was able to go into the park 3 times this week. Once with friends new to the park (playing tour guide is never as fun as doing my usual thing). When the family and friends were leaving...we (the wife and I) decided to stay in town for 2 more days. We went to the park Thurs afternoon again, and then again last night for a few hours from about 6:30-9ish. Moonlight Madness was empty. Lines were managable, and the crowds were very thin everywhere. I got a few great long exposure photos (not nearly as many as I would have liked, but my wife was being so nice as to follow me and my cameras all night, I held my photos to a minimum :) )  I will post a few later tonight.

We're taking a big family trip down to Branson this weekend and I will also be at SDC on Saturday, all day, and for Moonlight Madness.

It will be my first time at MM so I hope it's a good experience!! I'm excited!

My only complaint about MM is trivial, hearng "walking on sunshine" while sitting on the square was a bit hard to swallow. Upon leaving the square, we went down to the horse bridge to escape the 80's (1980's) and soon found that it followed us through the speakers....But It is not too bad. The dance party seemed to be exciting for those involved, and be sure to check the pathfinder for the specials on food etc. for the evening events.

Unfortunately today is the last day for Andy's Branson/ Springfield locations to have the Silver Dollar City 50th Birthday Cake Sundae. We went yesterday after Moonlight Madness, and the wife got it in a concrerte form. Having had the cake in it's original form, this custard+cake was A-Mazing. I went for the Key Lime Pie concrete (Custard blended with a WHOLE PIECE OF KEY LIME PIE). I wish someone would have told me about this sundae 2 weeks ago when I was staying in Springfield, I would have been there every night! It says it will be offered July only...you could try to see if it is still offered though. We hit up all the custard places on our trips, it is our thing and my wife blogs about them all. Andy's, even beside the fact that they paired up with SDC, is the best we have had EVER (and I would know since I managed a custard store in STL for over 5 yrs!).

I guess it musta just been a fluke that there was no music on the park speakers last Sunday evening... Darn.

Gasp! Silver Dollar City just isn't Silver Dollar City without the ambience of bluegrass played throughout. However, I hope that was in fact just a fluke. Perhaps, the summer time heat is just too much for those hard working speakers.  ;)

We were there on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We heard Bluegrass until about 8:00 in various places in the park.  At the rides, there was different music, though.  Then at 9:00, there was the dance party.  So don't worry--Bluegrass plays at times.   :)

Whew!  Since I don't particularly care about thrill rides but do want to take advantage of being in the park longer, you can count me as leaving at 8:00.

I could go to my grave never having heard Lady CaCa at SDC and be juuuuust fine with that.  Gross!

SDC has always made a great past to remember

Love the Lady CaCa line! (I, too, can live without hearing that come over the PA system at SDC.)

HA Ha!  At least Zippidy Doo Da is written specifically for the theme of the area.  Poker Face and Fall Out Boy didn't have themeing on the mind when they wrote their stuff, I don't think
