those poor employees

Some parks' workers need to work until ten, eleven, or midnight every day during the summer. SDC workers are lucky we close at seven or eight most nights of the summer.

Yes, but SDC is not "some parks" for a reason

I will be in Branson sat afternoon, going to do the 4:00 Belle, and then go see my favorite show In town, The Haygoods.

I am tempted to go out to SDC about 10, after show...  anyone have any idea what will be going on? any late shows., or just rides?...

I can always check the online pathfinder wed/Thursday..  Just wondering if anyone knew the late night details.

I don't get why they aren't open until at least nine or ten on all Saturdays during the summer. In the 1880s Ozarks did people go to bed early? I don't think SDC needs to be different than other parks in their operating hours.

I agree most parks 9:00 PM to 10:00 Pm seems to be the standard. The admission prices for a 1 day ticket is high enough to justify more than a 8 hour operating window.

I heard quite a few years ago that SDC had an agreement with Branson that they would close early enough so that visitors could go to shows in the evening.  You know, sort of spread the wealth.  It's a reasonable idea.

History Buff

Of course they went to bed early...and woke up early with the sun and chickens.

I can imagine if staying open later is profitable, they will do so, but if they are able to make just as much and not have the long hours, in which they would have to expand payroll in one way or another, why stay open?  It used to be that people would go into town for a show in the evening and the crowds would drop off, with a new century may come the the ability for SDC to retain a crowd and make added profit.  We may see some changes once they get through a few "sample" seasons.

Technically they are open almost to 9 every night with the Echo Hollow Show...

Pretty sure that was before the days of breakfast shows and 2 PM matinees. When those shows moved in that handshake agreement went out the window. Just what  heard through the grapevine.
