Howdy!

My family is toying with the idea of going to SDC over the Memorial Day weekend.  This will be our only chance to enjoy the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival.  Are we totally out of our minds?!?  I have never been at SDC during a holiday, so I am not sure if the crowd level will be unbearable.  Has anyone been to SDC during a Memorial Day weekend in the recent past?

I've been there many times during Memorial Weekend.  I always go early and usually leave when the crowd gets heavier, but it's never been too bad. Go and have fun!

Sunday and Monday will be less busy than Saturday.  I prefer to go Monday.  Sunday might be good this year though.  There is a 60% chance of strong afternoon POp up storms. That tends to keep people away.

Sat will be busy...
Sunday, not so much,,,
MOnday will be lighter, with most people driving home on Monday.

We will be there on Sunday morning for a while..

While Saturday will be busy, I don't think it will be hard to have fun. The water rides will probably be packed, and OR, TGS and PK will have lines, but the other rides mostly have good put-through and there's so much else to do besides rides anyway. I'd say you might see lines of an hour+ on Outlaw Run and Powderkeg, but only 20 mins apiece for things like Flooded Mine, Wildfire, and the Electro Spin. Could be a good day to see the cave as well.

Will be an interesting weekend for sure,, weather related,,,, mid 70"s all 3 days,  with 40%, 60%, 60% percent of thunderstorms throughout.  That will be the biggest factor on the crowds.  Pack umbrellas and rain gear and enjoy!

We were there Friday 5/22. Nice crowd but not packed.
