Burl Ives' America was shot in the spring of 1978 on the park. It aired in syndication that fall. I watched it on KYTV Channel 3 Springfield,  MO on Thanksgiving Day. If you look in the big photo book the Springfield News Leader published on the 50th anniversary of SDC, you will see a black and white picture of people in the saloon. Look closely, and you will see some camera lights and a camera, this was a shot inside the saloon during a scene of Burl Ives' America. You will  notice the SDC employee Rex Burdette, who played Rube Dugan in the TV special, dressed in character in the photo. The subplot to the show was that a big city lawyer fella comes to SDC, and Rube Dugan hires him to help him patient his diving bell. After a crazy ride with Sarie Ellen McCoy and Rube, the diving bell crashes, and the lawyer, Rube, and Sarie Ellen pop to the surface of the lake.
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

Ozark Outlaw

Wow, I remember this! I was surfing online a couple of years ago, and stumbled onto this video. It is really a great watch. Burl Ives was enjoyable to listen to, and everyone really did a great job. Classic Silver Dollar City. :)

I saw that when I first joined this forum. It was pretty cool. I haven't watched it in a couple years, I think it's time to watch it again
