Won't work will it? You have to upgrade the same day you use the ticket... probably for exactly this reason.

From the SDC website:

Can I apply my one day ticket price towards the purchase of a season pass?
Yes. It must be applied on the same day of visit by the ticket holder. This can be completed at the Season Pass Exchange Booth before you leave the park.
