I don't think they can settle though, it just opens up the flood gates even further. We see these types of lawsuits every year because big places like SDC are easy targets. When people are stuck with medical expenses that reach into the tens or hundreds of thousands (if not millions!) they go looking for someone, anyone to pin a lawsuit on. Plus, a settlement is kind of an acknowledgement that something is wrong with the restraint design, isn't it? That could be used in later suites I'd assume...

Whatever they do though, the negative PR is the real issue here, even though a lot of people are getting better at parsing this kind of stuff.

I'm with Shave.  I would imagine a settlement would open a "pandora's box" so to say.  I can't figure out how this kid could sustain this type of injury and not scream out in pain or pass out.  Especially if he  “suffered intense and excruciating pain . . . sickness, nausea, and episodes of vomiting over the course of several days . . . "  It would have been immediate, it wouldn't have just crept up on him later.

I think this whole lawsuit is nuts.

Yeah, I'm sitting here trying to imagine riding that entire ride with that kind of injury, the back and forth motions and forces... it just doesn't add up at ALL.

AHHHHHHHHHH! and AAARRRRRRHHHHHH!!!!!

Proving that two letters can describe the difference between solving math problems and getting your junk smashed in TGS ride harness.
