Several people injured and/or killed at the Ohio State fair after the Fireball Spinning Swing attraction drops its seats while in operation. Terrible incident for the fair and to the families of those who were directly affected by this.

In this extended video with a slo-mo edit and the aftermath you can see the silver floor panel shifted a bit when the arm swung by. I think thats what did it. The gondola struck the floor panel as the arm swung by.

Just now hearing about the accident.. terrible.

prayers to all affected.

Watched a separate video of eyewitness accounts from those standing in the queue. One speculated that the operator feared someone was slipping out the ride and hit the emergency stop button in a panic. The result brought the ride to an abrupt halt and looked to be the cause of at least two riders being ejected, as well as one of the seating rows to be sheared off and thrown from the structure. Obviously speculative, but the video and account are terrifying and tragic put it lightly. While these types of accidents are such a statistical anomaly, they are truly horrific.

Thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

Seen a few pics of the arm of the ride.  Looks like it just broke off.  Probably metal fatigue.  Just plain horrifically scare stuff that might not have a clear root cause for why it happened:(  Curious to see the final investigations.  I've always been more fearful of crazy flat rides like that than any stationary build roller coaster.
