Don't know how many Star Wars/Disney fans are around here... but as a theme park fan, I found this to be a pretty great commercial for the opening of the revamped Star Tours ride:

Big summer for Disneyland Resort too. The new Star Tours ride and a new parade at Disneyland, new Little Mermaid dark ride, revamped small roller coaster at DCA, new restaurant areas at California Adventure, and new hotel theming and pools at the resort hotel. To be followed up next summer by an even bigger year with the opening of the new Cars Land project, a very impressive looking addition to California Adventure. Of course, this also comes with a big ticket price increase that they made a couple weeks ago. Gotta get the money to build from somewhere I guess...

Lol I loved that commercial!! It's nice to hear that Disneyland is getting some upgrades, particularly California Adventure. Disneyland just doesn't compare to WDW in Florida in my opinion, but I guess that is expected since one reason WDW was built was to fix the issues Walt Disney felt Disneyland had.

Isn't it great? lol. I still laugh when I see it.

Yeah, Disneyland has always been limited by available space. I feel like Disneyland can hold it's own against Magic Kingdom, but it sits in the shadow of the whole WDW resort. They just had more space to do stuff with. And of course California Adventure has been a laugh for most of its life. I think it was the result of some Disney execs who thought they could slap the Disney name on anything and people would come in droves. Obviously that has panned out, so the last couple years and the next year to come have brought a complete park overhaul. New entrances, new eateries, shops, themes, a whole new land with the biggest Disney "mountain" built yet (Cars Land coming next summer). Essentially it seems like they are converting it to a true Disney park finally. I'm interested to see how that pans out.

Where Disneyland wins is their Pirates of the Caribbean. It's just about twice as long as WDW's, and one of my most vivid memories from my first trip to DL at the age of 3 will be floating through the bayou, seeing the "fireflies" and the people eating on the Blue Bayou veranda. WDW's PotC doesn't come close. I'm not sure about any other attractions.

WDW wins for not overlaying the Haunted Mansion with "Nightmare Before Christmas" stuff; I'm sure it's neat and all, but I was so grateful to get to WDW the first week of January and learn that they don't do the overlay, so I was able to experience the Haunted Mansion (one of my favorite Disney rides ever) in its normal form. I was glad, because I have no clue when I'll ever be able to go back. It's been 20 years since I last went to Disneyland, and it had been nearly 15 since my first (and only) trip to WDW before this January.

I really, really wanna make it back to Disneyland, to see what it's like after all these years, and to experience California Adventure, which looks really fun. Plus, it's only a few hours drive from my family who still live in CA, so it'd be nice to take a trip out and see them, too.

That was hilarious thanks for posting!
