I have uploaded a couple of home movie clips to youtube and wanted to share them.  This first clip I think is about 1963 or 64, based on how old my dad looks in the video.  The second clip is a couple of years later.  Let me know if these links don't work!

GREAT home movies! For all who remember me writing on threads about the BUTTERFIELD HOTEL, let me tell you on the first movie there is about 3 seconds of a ramshackle farm house just after the train robbery and before the medicine show scene. I think that is the Butterfield Hotel. The building was an actual old farmhouse that was located about where the little race game is on the path to Wilson's Farm. Just across the RR tracks from FITH. The old stagecoach path ran past there, and before the stage came around the corner, the stage driver said to the folks riding the hotel was "fine lodging!" It always was a big laugh when the coach rounded the corner and the hotel came into sight. The Butterfield Hotel was still there when I first started working there in 1978. I seem to remember it was torn down in the winter of 1979 probably because it was becoming so dilapidated by then. Check out some old SDC maps to show the exact location of the building.

I had wondered what that building was while watching my videos.  That is very cool to know, thanks for the info!

Long time no see all!!!

Well... over the last few months, and with a few gifts from people, I have received a few old home movies of SDC from the 1960's (63-69)! I have now a few items that I would love to get digitized along with a Britannica film of "The Blacksmith" that I have yet to view as well, I guess we'll have to wait until a few dollars become available for this to happen!!!

Anyone know of a good and affordable place/ site to digitize old 8mm film?

Maybe I'll do a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to share these old movies! Supporters could get a DVD with the movies on there for their enjoyment.

Junior, too!

Go to any real, good camera shop and they should be able to help you out. Good seeing you on the threads again.

Sure HB! I was asked a few times by awnry students, and I got a few "HEY ITS THE SUPERFAN" while at the park...but thats about it.

If by autographs you mean changing diapers for my 3 month old, and taking care of my daughter all the while still moving into a new house and coaching and holding down the teaching job...then yah!

You mean your new status doesn't allow you to hire someone to take care of some of those menial tasks?

Really, I knew the real reasons.  It's good to hear from you.
