with giant turkey leg comes giant responsibility (and caloric/ fat intake)

WebMD.com, in an article about food at fairs, festivals and amusement parks, reported that a "giant turkey leg" has 1,136 calories and 54 grams of fat.

I had one years ago to experience the mammoth cave man style meat gnawing...Needless to say I will not be revisiting the emu sized turkey leg.

That was a tradition for me growing up. My mommy always purchased one for me once a year. I dont get them anymore. It just doesnt taste the same.  :-[

Rube, thanks!  I needed to hear that!  Not!   ;D  It's a good thing we split it.

Josh, I think with fries a turkey leg is about $12.  Yep, that hurts...

I have never seen the attraction of a turkey leg. They're tough and full of tendons and connective tissue.

I don't think it's just OTC food, but fried chicken!!! I had two pieces of my own, the one piece my sister didn't eat, and the rest of what my mom didn't eat (for some weird reason, she uses her fork to eat fried chicken).

And the second we walked through the gate, my sister said "I want a Walking Taco!!" then she got another one while we watched the parade lol.

Indeed Missin' ! The smell is intoxicating and the flavor is great (the brine and injection of the turkey is wonderful, but I would eat it in moderation seeing that it is so muchmore than your daily salt intake (recommended is 2300mg, most eat 3100-4100mg per day)

But the calories at SDC don't count right? If I learned anything, it is that SDC is a vacation, and those are guilt free meals!

My favorite is not an OTC exclusive either. A bowl of Succotash every trip, no matter the festival. However, turkey legs are always in season and good.
