The NTSB released its findings this week about the Duck Boat sinking on Table Rock Lake in July 2018.
Here's a link to the findings: https://www.ky3.com/content/news/NTSB-releases-findings-for-whos-to-blame-in-duck-boat-tragedy-570023101.html
The safety board chairman said he thought the business could reopen if changes were made. In May 1999 the Hot Springs Ducks also had a Duck sink and that business did reopen and is still operating.

Hit's way too close to home. In November 2016, I accepted a job as a duck boat captain. I never got to do it because I decided to move back to Oklahoma to be closer to my daughter.

Short version: it was just like the Hot Springs accident.

Slightly longer answer:

Shouldn't have been out there in a storm and the coast guard should have made them remove the canopy.

Interestingly, the NTSB said that the captain was correct to tell the passengers not to put on life jackets, because more people may have been trapped by the canopy.

I find the recommendations that the CG change its rules and recommendations very interesting.  I wonder how this report would have impacted the trials, had it come to that.
