Since today is SDC's final day of the 2010 season, what do you hope happens in 2011. For example what would you like to see happening at the festivals, or maybe something on park like more boats at American Plunge or Lost River so lines can move faster in the summer. Please Post!  :)

I would love to see 2 trains at all times on each coaster.
For the falling rocks to return on the flooded mine.
More Bluegrass and less Gospel music.
The return of the taste of the country in the fall festival ( where they had Mexican and different regional foods set up with entertainment in the hall)
I would love to see some more money get pumped into FITH.
I would also like to see more original merchandise for sale.
And conservative adult shirts with the axe and log ( Polo style)
Another high caliber show for the oprah house ( getting tired of the same old for the past 4-5 years.)

That's a little start.....

I would like the Southern Gospel picnic moved to later in September (not gonna happen) and lengthened  (not sure).  I would like some new shows for the Christmas festival.  I would like to see the balloon ride return for my girls. (it always made me dizzy(er)).  I would like to see the addition of a family pass for two adults and 2 kids-$175.00.  Also more music during the craft festival!
Vote to end 2020!

How-doFolks

BUMPER STICKERS !! And better discounts on food for season pass holders.
Live life like it's the last day!

I hope Half Dollar Holler is a hit with the kids. I hope they will continue to increase the street characters and keep Rainmaker. I hope they bring in more traditional music. I hope they scale back the weird and modern music during the night time thing. I hope they refurbish and theme the cave at American Plunge. I hope they refurbish the tree house and somehow put it back in use. I hope before the end of the year they announce a major attraction...like a woody. Hope they announce refurbishing and redeveloping Celebration City. I hope Whitewater's new addition is good. I hope the showboat has a good year and does not get stuck again...that the new show and improvements to the boat are well recieved. I hope the economy strengthens and that our personal fortunes do as well, so we all can get to SDC and SDC attractions more in 2011!

Maybe the rocks return to Flooded Mine and a sprucing up of FITH and FM. I would like to see the baldnobbers and convicts upgraded to be a little more lifelike and real. I know SDC isnt rolling in dough, but, though some things must stay "classic" and close to our hearts, I think there should be some tweaking here and there!

I would like to see the loop from Powderkeg to Wildfire completed to cut down the congestion around the Saloon.  I wish they could make Wildfire a floorless coaster. I think it's time for some new shows as some of them are getting a little tired. A new wooden coaster would be great.  I wish they would stay open later all summer long and offer extra riding time just for season pass holders.  If you are going to offer Moonlight Madness, stay open late enough so we can actually get several rides in while it is actually dark. Do away with Kidsfest and just offer shows that everyone wants to see.   Get rid of the basketballs, air brushed t-shirts and cheap toys.  Add a restaurant that ties in a show or maybe some character interaction.  Finally, get some people in management walking the streets of the city who know the roots of SDC.  I was talking with one of the young management leaders on the square one visit and was shocked at how little he knew about the Beverly Hillbillies episodes and where certain scenes were shot in the City.

I would like to see some of the good gun fights they use to have at the hotel, maybe a bank robbery here and there.

I would like to see the Bluegrass Festival moved to June...I love Bluegrass but it's impossible to make it to that festival when your a principal and 12 hours away, thus unable to take off time from school as it is the end of the year. I'd also like to see something happen with Celebration City. The announcement of a new thrill ride for SDC during the 2011 season would be nice as well. I'm just hopin' that SDC isn't neglected for the sake of Dollywood or any other of HFE parks. Dollywood is getting a new ride each year it seems like and now I see that Ricky Skaggs and Sierra Hull are going to be part of their Bluegrass Festival...I'm wondering why Dailey and Vincent aren't on the schedule for the Bluegrass Festival at SDC this year.

With strong ties to MO, having family here in my town (local restaurant owners/ acquaintances of mine-I had their kid in class for a few years) and being from Kirksville, it is great to have a her (Missouri girl) come back and play year after year.

To clear it up...I have spent most of the 30 yrs of my life in StL, next highest amount of time spent in one place would be in Branson, and Kville is a close third as to time spent in one city. After college here in StL my -girlfriend at the time -now wife- enrolled up there @ Truman & was taking some classes @ A.T.Still for her degree, and not having a job at the time since art teachers were not in high demand, I tagged along with her! After several months I got a job here in StL and had to come back, but had more than enough time to see what KVille had to offer. I miss certain things about it- the farmer's markets, the street fairs, the late nights, the drive in @ Macon before it blew down! Nothin better in Kirsksville than a good trip to Il Spazio for tha Spam and Dorito pizza (don't kick it till you've tried it! or the Shepherd's pie at St Patrick's Day,or El Vaquero, or a ronza from Pagliai's. The DuKum Inn (home of the 2nd best Cheeseburger in town!/and the upstairs DuKum Up. Ahh the memories...  I covered every street on foot, photographing buildings, etc just because I had nothing else to do! I was able to see a part of the NE, MO city that not many peoiple see. I still have some good ties up there , and to some it sounds crazy, I cannot wait to get back for a weekend eventually. Rhonda Vincent IS from KVille however, and here in StL i have her 1st cousin twice removed in classes (son of a cousin of hers).

Rhonda is actually from Greentop.
