the guy on the left is Gary Clarkson, the one on the right, one of his clients. Gary was a long time employee from the early, early days.

Had to throw this one in here... I believe I see a young M. Balmer in there!

WOW! I remember that wheelbarrel. When they didn't use it in street skits, it sat off a pathway as an atmosphere piece. Always got a laugh. :)

I believe this would have been late 70's early 80's (78-84 window of time). Can't quite remember which batch it came from.

The wheelbarrel is a timeless comedic piece.
I wonder why that went away.
Seems like they have dumped a lot of the old humor from the park.

Probably just broke over time. Or, some lucky employee could have taken it as one incredible souvenir! :P

Terry is a great guy, he gets my vote for the hardest working man in Branson. I have talked with him many times. Some he would remember, some probably not! Usually I am referred to as Matt the Painter after the painting I did of him.

ahem...a painting based on a photo I took!!  ;)

Timeline on the wheelbarrel is right. Late 70s to early 80s.

The Shoein' shed was Gary Clarkson's homebase in the late 70's, early to mid 80s. Located between the lumbercamp and FITH.

I got a-hold of Terry yesterday, and he WAS indeed beginning his role of Mr M. Balmer in this early 1980's photo.

From Terry:
QuoteGoing left to right, Elmer Wallace, Terry Wayne Sanders, Joe Jokubiet, & Dave 'DRB Bowen.

Did they ever actually shoe real horses in the Shoein' Shed? Silly question I know, but now I wonder what the attraction was all about. :P

Not that you could ride your trusty steed into the park and have it shod, but it was a demonstration location. He would discuss shoes, the history, the process, and also shod horses mules for the parks services.
