Now that we have SDC Monopoly, how about other games?

Clue
Risk
Uno

We could sell these in our SDCFans book/museum/nostalgia store on the park.

There are several people on this site who have wonderful collections of SDC material. Anyone think that SDCFans.com should sponsor a non-profit booth say in the hospitality house or ozark marketplace that we could display some of our collection? We could put up a big sign with the website address on it to encourage other fans to check out the site? Would the powers that be at the park allow us to do something like this a few Saturdays in the upcoming season? I'd love to put some of my old photos and some of my "artifacts" on display! I know there have to be more fans out there of SDC who don't know about the site here yet...what do you all think???
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

DollarCityBoy

I think that would be a great idea. I, like most people, just stumbled across this website. Just think how many people would join if we had a banner up at the park.
You have a great past just ahead of you.

sounds like a good idea,  AND if there were scheduled days for the "display".. It would be easier for us all to meet each other face to face. ;D.

I would LOVE to do that, and be more than willing to use a few days to be down there. With my stuff...I would bring out the big guns!!!! Not just things from the 70's and 80's, but from all the way back! I wouldn't lug out all of my stuff (all 600+ items), but the good ones would be brought! That would satisfy my bucket list item of "working" at Silver Dollar City". Just tell me when and where, and I'll man the booth/ display.

Ozark Outlaw

I am still waiting on the Silver Dollar City Edition of Trivial Pursuit.  :P

It was Alf Bolin.....in the Flooded Mine.....with a banjo string!  :D :D :D :D

My class recreates a game every year, and relates it to American history.
Monopoly was really easy to do.
Risk was a very easy (broke up the colonies, and territories)
Apples to Apples took alot of time but in the end was fun to play
Clue was pretty easy, and really fun to play
Life has probably been the most time consuming of the recreations since there are 100+ spaces/ variables etc.
all have been pretty easy to change the basic concepts to relate them to US History. They could all easily be adapted to SDC.

I am thinking we could make a mousetrap type game to catch "the ghost" from the kids book-a rube goldberg type machine that would incorporate a shot tower, the rides, even maybe the cave or the train etc.

if that doesn't work for you howabout
A version of Hillbilly Operation maybe you could come up with some great ailments!

Zephon

How about a video game...Mario Visits SDC?  Or Call of Duty: Silver Dollar City?
"Why do they call them Wild Women?"

Parson B Ready

OH YEAH....Call of Duty--Silver Dollar City....you could take out baldknobbers....or annoying teen-agers, or kids bouncing basketballs.......the possibiliites are endless!!!   JUST KIDDING!!!!  Please no nasty comments about gratuitous violence.

sanddunerider

oh MAN!!  theres those basketballs again!!!????!!!

How about Hatfield and McCoy Chess Sets? One side would wear Red, one Blue.
Pa-King
Ma-Queen
Work Truck-Rook
Preacher-Bishop
Mule-Knight
Kin' Folk/ Young'ns-Pawn

sanddunerider

hey rube!!  when do you have time do come up with all these great ideas?  I love the chess idea..  They handcarve the pieces right there at the park.. imagine that!!??

rubedugans

I was thinking of a new idea for my class to relate to a recreated chess game of the founding fathers vs britain, and I couldn't remember if they had a Hatfield/ McCoy version in the park...If so that's awsome! If not I take all the credit!
