If you ever pass through Sikeston, MO in southeast Missouri, stop by the ORIGINAL Lambert's Cafe. During my latter college years I lived there, and knew old man Lambert. He was a friend of my parents. We ate there all the time. Ole Norm threw me many a roll! The place that they call home today in Sikeston is not the original location, which they outgrew years ago. I can remember in the mid and late '80's standing in line to get in at Lambert's. It was then and is now at any of the locations, worth the wait. The entertainment factor and the meals...and those throwed rolls, make it worth your time.

Junior, you still have to wait in line to get in Lambert's in Sikeston. My spouse and I went in May at 7:30, got number 106 in the call list and they were on 81 at the time. but it still is worth the wait.

My family loves the place though I haven't been there as of yet.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I definitely agree with those who have already mentioned Famous Dave's, it is one of my favorites. Also, Mel's Hard Luck diner is great. They have very good food, and then all the waiters/waitresses are singers from shows around Branson, working part time in the diner. Every so often one will walk over to their karaoke type machine and start up a song to perform. Sometimes the other servers will join in and sing harmony. And while they do this, they don't stop waiting on you/interacting with you. It's just a purely fun environment to enjoy dinner in. Definitely recommend!

My new favorite find is Reed's Spring Picca Co.  USA Today listed it as the best pizza in Mo.....  And they are right. http://www.reedsspringpizzaco.com/

OK, aside from spending every waking hour at SDC that I can, does anyone else besides me go absolutely crazy trying to decide on a place to eat?   The place has grown so much with so many great options, I just wish there were more eating options in the day and that my stomach could take it.

I feel like Branson is one gastronomic adventure in itself!

you know it is tough trying to decide where to eat..

although they changed couple of them this year, so i eliminated them from the list,,,  example- jacks sandwhich shop..

You could easily spend a week in Branson, eat at a different restaurant at all three meals, and still not come close to sampling every restaurant there.

Best recommendation is to just try something new each visit. :)
