I am a big dummy.

I ended up in Baptist Emergency Room yesterday because of what I did this past weekend.

I went to the 1st annual Blanchard OK bluegrass festival for about 2 hours to get my fix and then played basketball for a few hours on Saturday. Then my band practiced for 5 hours or so on Sunday.

I almost passed out doing 70 down the highway yesterday morning and then almost passed out again at the Access Medical Clinic. They carted me away in an ambulance.

Turns out that heat + humidity + obscene amounts of Doctor Pepper will land you in the hospital if you're not careful.

My heart rate kept dropping from normal to around 50 and I felt really really weak.

So drink water.... or Gatorade.... and eat bananas for the potassium.

Don't be a big dummy like me  ;D

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I learned the same lession in 2003 on a visit to New Orleans that too many Margaritas from Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Restaurant plus the humidity of New Orleans in late spring plus not getting enough sleep will give you rubbery legs and force you to take a taxi ride back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep before trying to see the rest of the city.  :-[
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

Ok so what we learned here is you eat Bananas when you drink Marqaritas??  :P :P

It always happens with people out of town and on trips be aide it is a change in routine and change in locale so you just forget the simple things like eating and drinking! It happened to me after driving through the night to Breckenridge. Bad, bad day.

I'm glad you got to a clinic in time!  I learned that lesson in Feb 2010.  I had the flu for a week and the only thing I could keep down was Dr. Pepper.  So what happens when the flu disappears and you are left with dehydration and are so hungry your stomach won't stop growling?  Hospital!

Ended up back at the Doctor yesterday, as I was seeing spots and my BP was out of control. I'm getting old I guess. The doctor started me on blood pressure medicine. It's been a rough week.

My wife's blood stream is 75% Dr. Pepper.
SDC has always made a great past to remember

I drank my first Dr Pepper in about 10 years yesterday.
