Anyone notice the differance of the location of the sunrises & sunsets? And the location of the moon?
Any thoughts? Isn't magnetic North off just a little bit?

Maybe i've been watchin' too much YouTube.... :-\ :D :-[

It last occoured about 790,000 yrs ago, in the past 15 million years scientists found pole shifts occurred four times every 1 million years. Though this averages out to once every 250,000 years, switches do not occur at regular intervals. Many believe the shift is already underway...who knows! As long as I can still get to SDC I will be fine...good thing I don't need a compass or GPS for that!

The polar shift began in 1820 when Grandpappy Dugan discovered silver in a cave or mine on the outskirts of Silver Dollar City. He found so much treasure he stored it in barrels and gunny sacks, guarding it night and day. Then the rains came, flooded out the little valley his mine was located in, and it formed Lake Silver. Since then, explorers have searched for the treasure, creating a polar shift by using all sorts of weird inventions to locate the silver. At first, people dug holes all around the edge of the lake with shovels, shifting the polar axis by moving mounds of dirt around. Then Rube Dugan invented his diving bell to search the depths of the lake, displacing water and creating a weird vortex that lasted from 1877-1884! Since then, some guy named "Doc" has been spotted around the lake with unusual electronic instruments that warp time and space. He wound up leaving the lake area to concentrate on another plan to be a well known aerialist in another Silver Dollar City location. The search for the lost silver continues, recently a Silver Dollar City citizen had a plan to place an underwater rollercoaster at the lake, but that plan has yet to reach fruitition. Who knows what will occur in the future? If you feel a bit whoooozy walking around on the planet, just remember, the problems all began when Grandpappy and his silver were lost in a terrible flood in 1820 at SDC! You read it here first, my friends.  :D

I usually get up earlier than that, around 6:30 or 7am when my sister is getting ready for school because she doesn't have any consideration for those who might be sleeping. But days, like Saturdays, or when I have the flu (all last week), I can never sleep past 8am when I would like to.

I cannot speak specifically for the poles. However, I do know that magnetic north shifts over time. Airports number their runways based on the magnetic heading of the runway. It is not uncommon for airports to have to renumber their runways due to a gradual, but steady shift of magnetic north.
