What is the very first thing you will do on your first visit back to SDC?

If we go by ourselves, we will check out the Hospitality House & then maybe some glass blowing.
If we go with Big Doin's & Good fixin's, ( my brother in law & his girlfriend ) we will go ride the Giant Swing first because she has never riden it.

Anyone else?

The train. That line gets LONG!! Then either Thunderation or Powderkeg.......Im getting more nervous about that inogural (sp) ride with the kid the closer it gets.

After going through the turnstiles the first thing I always do is get a cinnamon roll from Eve and Delilah's Bakery. It is a family tradition. It is also tradition for me to get a funnel cake just before leaving the park on the last day of my visit. :)

Use my "smellavision" and head to Eva and Delilah's.  After that, I don't care what I do - I just want to be there.

Cinnamon bread from Sullivan's Mill -- to me it's so much better than the cinnamon rolls at Eva and Delilah's! ;D

Perhaps Sullivan's Mill is better, but Eva and Delilah's Bakery is right there at the entrance. The smell, and the aroma just holds me captive each time I pass by. Plus, I cannot get to Sullivan's Mill until after the rope drop, and I need that energy boost before I start my day tackling those steep hills. ;D

Has anyone ever tried to recreate some of these SDC treats?  We should start a page dedicated "Make at Home" versions of SDC food.  I'm not sure about the breads at Sullivans Mill or E&D's Bakery, but I am pretty sure that the first ingredient of the skillets is "One Gallon Bucket of Lard, melted in a huge skilled until just beginning to smoke."

I will probbaly stop in the middle of the square and take in the fresh looks of a new season,  I hope it is warm so I can smell the new asphalt.  then just wander around...... ;D

My mother-in-law has gotten very good at making what she now calls "Branson Skillet." It is pretty darn close to what you get at SDC (the sausage skillet, not for sure what it is called) and is very delicious.

I've tried making one of those skillets, also.  I had the ingredients right, but I couldn't get the seasoning perfect - close but still needs work.

You can go to Sullivan's Mill before the rope drop -- there is a passageway that is open off the square to the left of the blacksmith shop.  Have been there many times before the rope drop.
