Sat afternoon she went us to Pierce Arrow,
Then we went to the Riders od the Circl B Dinner Show,
Then we went to the The Haygoods,  Her right hand helper(Cherie went with us too)

Then Sunday I made her get out of bed and went to SDC. We were on the square by 9:00,
The girls did some rides and we had lunch there and left about 1 or so, Paige had to be at work by 3.

It was fun!

Ok, here we go, everybody keep up....

We was the 1st ones at preferred parking at 7:50am Sat. morning, believe it or not the guy said Thanks for being patient & let us park for free. Walked around the square & took LOTS of pictuers with no one around, ( 212 total pics! Enough for 2 slide shows. ) rope drop was getting pretty packed so we knew what we was in for. Went & rode Thunderation first. Then Flooded Mine. Went to ride The Giant Swing but it was already packed & the only had 1 arm going. So we went to FITH & rode that, had about a 20 minute wait. Tried to go ride Wildfire, but the line was so long, it was backed up all the way to the lil' covered bridge by American Plunge!! So we rode the train. Now that was fun! Got to see some construction going on about the new ride, & got some pics of it for my video. We gave 1 of the train robbers 2 dollars & he told my brothers girlfriend to call him!  :D Went to go get some catfish at Aunt Pollys but it wasnt very good, i had afew dry pieces & gave up on it. It was about 1'ish already & the lines were so long, that all of us agree'd to go back on Sun. As we left we saw Terry Sanders on The Swinging Bridge, so we went & talked with him & took a pic. And out the park we went.... Did some cool stuff in Branson, ( slick track go-karts -- the zipline off the big tower by Shepard of the Hills -- got drownded on the bumper boats, & ofcourse got some ice-cream at Andys. )

Sunday was alot differant. Still was about the first 10 cars in preferred parking, had to pay this time tho'.  ;) Walked around the square again till rope drop, not as many people waiting this time. I never found out how many people was at the park the day before. Went to all the rides we missed the day before, Wildfire first -- then Powderkeg -- then FITH -- then my wife & my brother rode The Giant Swing, i sat out so i could get some pics of them -- then all 3 of them rode Lost River while i just relaxed by myself.  8) It was 11'ish by then & we had a 4 hour drive home, so we went to the market place & got some apple butter syrup, cant wait to try it!! Walked out'a there very happy that our weekend went well at the park, but ya'r always bummin' when ya leave..  :'(

We all had a great time, i took alot of nature shots, & building & sign shots for my videos, i will prob'ly make 2 slideshows for all of us watch. I'm gunna go relax before i make any videos, we rode in the back of a compact car, time to stretch out.... I'll get on my YouTube slideshows asap, still make take a day or so.

Thanks again SDC! Hope to see ya in afew months or so! 8)

Forgot to mention -- They have a new FITH dog, dont know his name yet. And they made us take off our glasses on Wildfire, new rule this year. Just so ya all know.
Live life like it's the last day!

So went to the park on the 30th and I have to say weather was perfect and the crowds were next to nothing which was even better. Did not have to ever wait in line for the stuff we went on.
Any started the day off heading to the preferred parking to get my pass got there about 9:30 am. As I mentioned in the other parking topic the parking attendant has to put the sticker on your car. Since we did not have the vehicle I wanted it on I did not get the pass yet but he was nice enough to let us park for free anyway. After getting to the park no line at the gate headed to Molly's for breakfast again no line and as usually food was very good. After breakfast headed out side to watch opening ceremony I think it is so great that they still do the pledge of allegiance every morning.
First we headed over to GG I think my Son was the only one there walked around there for a little bit everything looked pretty good and all the stuff seamed to be working. After spending some time there headed over to the train again no wait. Saw the construction going and conduct mention a big announcement later this year. At the train robber shack I did noticed this time that you could hear what I guess were the screams of either the Giant swing or wildfire hopefully this was not due to the removal of so many trees and if so I can not imagine it will get any better with the new ride. I did notice it looks like the new ride entrance will come thru Wilson Farm.  After the train did FM or as my son calls it Shoot the guys ride.Everything seem to be working well though I still miss that audio that came with the large saw blade when it was let go toward you. After that went by Hannah's for some ice cream for lunch, it was a guys weekend with no mom,. AS always ice cream was great. Next headed to FIH I was a little disappointed with the ride conditions as you start off the spot in the roof is worse and you can see daylight which kinda takes away from everything. I think they really need to ramp up the maintenance on that building. That ride we actually had to wait a whole 10 minutes. After FIH headed over to  the tater patch for some taters I was actually disappointed for the first time the bowl I had gotten was about half burnt. We then headed to GE for some more rides for my son. By this time we had been at the park for about  7 hours and decided it was time we were going to go on the LRO but line was way to long we did though go on the AP ride was great the tunnel could use help and does not need to have the music blaring inside it. My 4yr son even convinced my Father in law to go on it and got soaked it was great. The greatest thing about the day was all the interaction my son got to do with the citizens. Between deputy Lump and the girl that walks around with the parsail he had an awesome day in fact he was passed out before we mad it to the parking lot. I did notice two other thing which I also posted on the woodcarvers topic. The shop that makes the engraved wood signs was not in its normal location by FIH it had that sweep stakes office in it and in the Ozark marketplace the area that made the wood names was now a tee shirt print spot. any thoughts
All and all another great day will be back on May 4th and can not wait.

I dont know if anyone else noticed this, as I am too lazy this morning to read several posts, but the old submersable from the diving bell is GONE! Unless I just didnt look hard enough for it. The cave was there in lake silver but Eli's sub is gone....

What are ya talkin' about, Trams? That lake sub has been gone for years. The "cave" next to the Lost River is still there, but the lake sub (a false diving bell top) was removed at the end of '84. Eli's submersible was across the lake where the kiddie play complex is today. It too was removed at the end of '84. Explain further, please.

I know I have seen it within recent years. I am going to dig out the photos and look if I have a picture of it. I know it has been there!!! I am not loosing it. The one as you cross the bridge to the right....In lake silver. I know it has been there!! I look for it everytime I go cuz I didnt know what it was until a while back ago.

If you check out BetaMike's Flickr site, I think you will find a scan of an SDC photo of Eli Tolts' submersible by the lake, and if you check out my Flickr site, all the way back on page 7, you will see a photo of the wharf showing the lake sub, and a close up of the lake sub during the lake water draw down in winter, 1981.

Hmm I will have to check my photos to see what is there....

I noticed they have closed off the Gazebo sitting area from main street.  You now need to walk around to the Hospitality House side to enter the Gazebo area.  This picture shows the closed off portion just to the right of the Gazebo.  Nothing major, but still a change.

Nice catch pintrader.. I noticed the square looked different, But could not figure out why..  Now I know what to look at when i get back in a couple of weeks.
