It was posted on the 1branson board that 20 - 25 THOUSAND people were expected at SDC on Saturday 8/18.  Anybody know why so many people are supposed to be visiting Saturday? ???

My guess is it is the back to school thing. Probably the next two or three Saturdays could be like that. Football starts about the last week of the month at schools here in Arkansas...Friday for high school. Saturday for RAZORBACKS! Come September, fall crafts show time. The summer is about gone.

Found out that it's employees and their families day for one of Springfield's major employers -- Mercy/St. John's medical system; they have clinics and hospitals in Missouri and Arkansas. Been there before on that day -- the Opera House and Riverfront Playhouse are usually used for employee events.  Think we'll pass on going this Saturday and will go Sunday instead.

You may be right, i just check the entertainment guide and there NO shows/events scheduled for opera house or Riverfront...
