Duelist

I just figured with Friday being a school day for some of the country (mine had to go to school here in central Ark) that there may be more of a crowd for Saturday.  What with all the hype of Outlaw Run they could see a record attendance.

Duelist, it could be a record breaking weekend for sure..

Might be interesting to compare this weekend to the 50 anniversary weekend ( it was a bug weekend also)..anybody rememebr the numbers on attendence for the 50th weekend?

Junior

I worked on park on a day that over 20,000 were there...not a fun day, way, way, too busy. In recent years, seems like they may have had some 21,000 to 23,000 days, but I don't know for sure.
"Howdy there folks! My name is Junior Dugan, and I'll be drivin' your diving bell!"

Duelist

I googled the average daily attendance at SDC and found a report from 2007 that it was 12,500.  Does anyone know what it was last year?

I got out to the park today. Was in line at about 10:30...didn't make it to the ride for three hours! They had to stop the ride 3x for whatever reasons. It was soooooo worth it...that ride is something special!

15K Friday
18K Saturday

They stayed open until 6:30 pm tonight.
If it's busy next Saturday check with a cast member to see if park hours have been extended

Thanks Swoosh!  18,000 is a lot of people but not as much of a headache as the 25,000 I predicted  :D
Sounds like they're off to a great start.

I've seen the forecast, I don't think it will be.

I plan one going Wed, before it gets really chilly.

When "you" were there, How many trains was OR running?

Joy

There were two running when I was there on Friday, both in the late morning/early afternoon and late afternoon/early evening.

What is the Min. operating temprature for OR?  I will be there next weekend, but it is supposed to be cold. It would suck if it can't run while we are there.
You have a great past ahead of you.

I didn't ask, but the min temp must be lower than 38.  It hovered between 37 & 39 today.  Wildfire & Powder Keg (min temps 40) were closed all day.  Giant Swing (min temp 38) closed and reopened later due to the temp.  Outlaw Run was open all day.

SDC said on facebook that OR would run in the rain as well as long as long as there was no lighting or the rain wasn't heavy.

Thanks for the reviews, everyone.  We are going on Thursday when the high is listed as 39 degrees.  I hope it's not too bad.  Those of you who went today seemed to have had a good time!
