The problem is that the history that is missed by not spending enough time inside.  I like to spend time showing my children the mural inside and educating them about the ride.  They are not scared of the ride because they understand the history.  Now, we get only a moment before we are whisked away on the ride.  On FM there is no confusion about where to sit, so it's a completely different situation.  I don't know if they just don't want that many people in the loading room or what.

Couldn't agree more.  I wish fith was the way it used to be.  I was saddened by it this year because I couldn't check out all the cool stuff on the wall.  I'll always remember looking at the framed "wanted" photos of the baldknobbers on the wall and being freaked out!  awesome stuff
Small wonder our lives have so little of God in them, when we come in touch with so little that God has made.

Well...shoot!  I haven't seen the new queue setup, but I like being inside and looking around also.  I don't think I'll like the new setup either.  Some things shouldn't change.

I have not had a chance to see / notice the new queue line yet. What happens if a lot of people want to ride on a rainy day? Are folks just going to get wet waiting outside, or can the lines be altered?

GOOD QUESTION!!  :o

I didnt ride FITH last visit. I can say this though. It was raining (hard at times), and the FITH line was certainly outside.  (There may have been folks inside though. I didnt go look).

If anyone going to SDC this weekend also has a chance to visit Sh. of the Hills on its last night, Saturday, PLEASE post pictures and give a detailed report. I wish I could be there!

Paige told me she was going to the funeral . I am here in Branson. I think the balloon festival is still going on today. I'm headed down to eat breakfast and then head out to the city .

Sitting under the gazebo in the GE right now, it's a fantastic day. OR and Giant swing already down. I can still barely ride. It's all about the length of your legs from the knee down if you are thick but with little overhang (hehe). Will hit the water rides around 2.

And when I say down, that means already rode a couple of times each. It was one of the few times I've been in recent years that all rides were up.

Beautiful day in the city, if a bit chilly in the morning. Some of the leaves are starting to turn. The 10AM service at The Wilderness Church was wonderful and uplifting.  Seemed like a rather light crowd in the city today.  Had lunch at the lumber camp, with an ice cream float later for dessert.  Lots of wandering around and taking in the sights.  I really like Harvest Festival time, except for the clutter and congestion from all the temporary buildings set up.  Had a great time, and I'm looking forward to going back in November.

We came down for a few hours on Sunday (Oct 20). Got to the parking lots at 11:30. There was no one out pointing which lot to go to, so we thought they were parking down at stop 5. Turns out we were wrong, so had to do the loop of shame to come back to stop 3 (along with 3 or 4 other vehicles who thought like we did_.
Got to Outlaw Run at 11:45 ish, just as the training going up the lift got stopped. Left to ride Wildfire and FitH instead. By the time we came back around they were finishing their test run with a maintenance worker and the ride was open again. Only about a 20 minute wait. Today they had a worker stationed at the railings, only letting in enough people for each train.  Hubby and I didn't notice any differences in the restraints, but 3 people in our train ended up not riding because of them.  On the lift hill there was a massive swarm of wasps! The PA was announcing periodically that if you had a bee or wasp allergy you might not want to ride today. I'm hoping that it's something they take care of now that they're got a few days of down-time.
Made a loop around the park, nothing else really to report.
"Red Flanders, you come back in here and put on your pants!" "Well Sadie, I ain't got no pants no more. The dang Baldknobbers stole 'em!"

You could tell the person at OR that you wanted the last row and he'd put you there. And FITH is as advertised, A lady was at the door assigning riders to cars and she wasn't keen on a single rider with a seat empty next to them. For old timers and newbies it looks like the line is out the door and long, I bet prompting folks to pass it by.  Still needs my idea of a track redo at the bridge with a vertical track drop  and launch into the finale. Water was low and barely a splash, already OTC mode. Off soap box now. One more visit and I'll be anticipating see whats new in 2015.

Seemed to be a large crowd tonight for Old Time Christmas.  The lights and decorations are outstanding again this year.  The fall leaves are beautiful and colorful on the trees in the park.  It seems like it should still be Harvest Festival instead of Christmas.  Didn't stay too long.  Grabbed one of the new burgers at the Lumbercamp.  The roll/bun was hard as a rock......not a fan at all.  Probably go back next again next weekend.

We arrived at the park on 10/7 at 3:30. Parked in lot 3. Walked straight to Red/Gold and walked right on in for the 4:15 "It's a Wonderful Life" show. Show ended up being full with people turned away. Show is pretty much the same as last year, and I imagine it will be around for a few more years due to the large investment that has been made in the production. Much of the discussion I heard afterwards was that it was good but there was room for improvement in the storyline and in the singing. My husband and I agree, and won't be seeing it again on our next visit to OTC.

From there we walked straight over to the Opera House and got in line for the last Dickens show of the day. Theater was full in the middle with just a few folks on the sides. New 3 piece band this year as well as a new Tiny Tim. If it all goes well we will catch it again on our second visit to OTC. On that visit we plan on seeing the saloon show, the Living Nativity, and Pure Heart.

We also rode FITH, Flooded Mine, and the train plus watched the 8 pm parade.  Very light attendance in the park in the evening. Shops and food stands closed early. Went to the old school to get our ornaments. We're still debating on buying season passes for 2014. When we asked for our ornaments we weren't asked if we going to renew our passes. There was one citizen on duty and a supervisor who was doing some additional training with her. Heard some folks say the hot chocolate was good this year but the wassail was not good. We didn't get any food. Did notice that potato soup in a bread bowl was offered at $7.99 at the Tater Patch near the Skillet Cookery.

Good report biscuit!  Is the water on in FITH or is it dry right now for the season?

Very small amount of water -- no fear of getting wet at all other than a few drips.
