I was wondering if any body knows if you can bring down any sdc mugs and get it refilled and how much is it. I know with water it is free but what about soda and other drinks?

That is the way it is supposed to work! But if you have an older mug, some vendors will charge you the current refill price. It seems to be hit and miss among the vendors as to who will honor the mug refill price or the current refill.

We have old glass mugs and most vendors do not know what to charge for these. They have no markings but it is supposed to be .75 cents for the mugs lifetime.

the excepction is IF you bought mugs in 2012, they were only good for last year..

AND I am guessing 2013 is the same way. BUT i dont think anyone has verified that yet..

LOL!!!  I saw 2 SDC mugs, Blue /train on them sell for 50 BUCKS on ebay a couple of weeks ago!!!

Duelist

When we were there a couple of weeks ago they honored the $1 refill for our mugs except at the Saloon when they charged us $2.50 for Root Beer floats.  By the way the new Outlaw Run frozen limeade with a hint of habanera pepper is very HOT!

We no longer drink pop so the mugs aren't something we need but when I was in the bakery a couple of weeks ago, the customer in front of me was asking about the mugs. He was told mugs purchased in 2012 are no longer good for refills, and that was the new rule. Mugs were only good in the year they were purchased. Older mugs are still being honored.

They make HUGE profits on drinks. In my day, they were able to fill a small Coke cup with ice, drink, and pay to have someone serve it to you for 3 cents! They charged a buck. That was 97 cents profit. I'm sure the numbers are different today, of course, but they are still making money when they fill that old glass mug from the 80s for 75 cents.

So I can continue to use my mug from 2008 and still get refills?

Tiff, you should be able to do that.

sanddunerider

all mugs will still be accepted, But only 2011 and before have "refill prices".

2012 would cost the same as regular drinks..

If u buy a 2013, refill will be honored this year only,,.,,,,

They are wantin u to buy a new mug every year.. (extra 10 or 11 bucks  per)

Misskim: try the frozen lemonade, not the Minuet Maid stuff, since they sell two different types. The none Minuet Maid Lemonade is great. They will fill those for the mug refill price.
SDC has always made a great past to remember

WOW, SDC is doing it too HUH? I mean-they are trying to honor the mugs for one year only. YUCK!! SF has done that for decades now. (Wonder why we like SDC much better than SF)?

Anyway I have been to SDC only once this year (SO-FAR) and my old mug was honored and refilled with no questions asked. I figured it was just a matter of time.

Qwed, if you have mugs older than 2012, the price listed on your mug is still honored.  There are vendors in the park who will expect you to pay the refill price listed on their menu, but you shouldn't have to pay it.
