Another POOR wintery day for the city today...  mid 30's and has been raining all day..

As of about 5 this evening only about 2200 people at the park...  the PTB were expecting 15,000

I don't mind walking in the rain, but cold, sleety rain...Yikes!

Again, I am so glad we decided to go on Wednesday this week.  PERFECT weather.

Last totals before the Christmas break....

sunday 8900, fair number for the cool weather,,

Monday 6000, not bad for colder weather,.,,,

couple of days off for the citizens..... then 5 more days and the season is over..!!

Thursday had almost 13,000 people...  nice day....

Friday and sat supposed to be NICE, sunday/Monday cooler.......

Lets hope for a BIG weekend for our favorite city...!

As I read this thread it seems like the PTB constantly over or under estimate the crowds on a regular basis. SDC must have a better way of doing this than they do now. Whoever is in charge should look at how they do the estimates. Does anyone know how they do this ? Pull a number out of a hat ?

As I read this thread it seems like the PTB constantly over or under estimate the crowds on a regular basis. SDC must have a better way of doing this than they do now. Whoever is in charge should look at how they do the estimates. Does anyone know how they do this ? Pull a number out of a hat ?

I just wish there was a good  walk path to the parking lots like lot 3. After the first parade it was a stampede to the shuttle area. There were so many folks trying to go through the last gift shop it was packed like sardines. Lesser guests could have lifted stuff easily.

What I've learned from years past is to just walk to the first stop on the 1 2 3 trolley  and board after the first drop and continue to 3 on the trolley. Save yourself over 15 minutes.

quite a day so far at the city today......

at 2:00, 11,000 people
at 4:00  16,000 people
at 7:00  23,000 people.


and they just announced will be open until 10:30...  MAN!!  wish we were there..!!!

When I was at the park, we were always told that "the numbers" were for internal use only, and discussion (especially posting them for others to see) was a breach of our privacy agreement that we signed (and still sign) today. As for the "PTB", they want a certain number each year (budgeted attendance) and they divide that number between all of the operating days, giving historicaly busier days a larger budget number. You may be way wrong (on either end), but that day last year may have been bad weather, or great weather. Next year, on their last Saturday, budget will be really high because attendance has been through the roof the last three years on the last Saturday of the season. I hope that clears up things a little...
