Article didn't mention that Walmart was an anchor store and that Jubilee is rebuilding from the ground up. Noticed Shoney's is back too.

Interesting developments. Well, if they are smart, and plan accordingly, they could revamp the location into something stop by worthy. Hopefully, this new investor will make it happen.  :)

Is this the red roof mall?

This is the indoor mall located between Walmart and the Jubilee Supermarket that was damaged by the tornado.  It look so much like a strip mall folks just don't notice the signage that it's a mall albiet a small one.

Whoa, I honestly never knew Branson had an indoor mall. It must be tiny from looking at it on google maps. What stores did it have?

The usual early 80s stuff, a Corn Dog 7, a comics book store filled with D&D stuff, Chess King, and a record store. :P

Last time we were in Walmart before the spinner it had live music and a stage and not much else.

There was/is also a theatre in the building.  Jim Owen has/had a show there.

The mall also had a center seating area around a small stage where locals could perform if they wanted to

The center stage was a great place to go if it got too hot in SDC.We always took a friend there who was in a power chair in the afternoons. He couldn't get down to the Pickin' Shed area because of the chips. Some of the entertainers were new talent and some were from a few of the theater shows trying out new acts before incorporating them in their shows. They stayed open until 9PM and the entertainment was free with tip jars on the tables.

Super

I agree, I enjoyed the center stage area where you could get a bite to eat and listen to local musicians.

The last time I was in there, the "Neil Diamond" guy was the stage show.  Also had a John Wayne look alike that was pretty good.  I started to avoid this place because of the "time share folks" that would nearly tackle you when you walked into the door.  Nothing burns me more than to have a nice relaxing time with the family....then WHAM you are hit with the "Hi folks...how long are you in town for....wanna see some shows...are you interested in saving some money?"  We always used to walk around the Apple Tree Mall until I finally had it with the time share people.

I used to buy my parachute pants there in the 80's.  I thought that was some cool sh*t....lol
Man I haven't thought about Chess King in years.  or a good record store for that matter.
